I don't know how much I want to look in to Mallett being in town last night, but he was hanging out with DeVier Posey so it could be more than nothing.

Why would Mallet in town matter? What does that even imply? Nothing.

Clearly, it means he was in town to throw for BOB, discuss details of a new contract, his role on the team as the new starting QB, discuss leadership qualities, and impress Bob and Rick at the white board at Reliant Stadium. Heck, he's probably already working on getting his picture on the billboard downtown near Momentum BMW. He might also be in town to get a head start on finding the best coke dealers in town.

(if Clutchfans were to tell it, anyway)

Plenty of athletes choose to champagne & campaign in Houston. Good strip clubs.

I don't like him any more or less than the draft crop. So sure, get it done and spend the #1 pick on Clowney. Works for me.

For this group of QB's, I'd go:

    1) Teddy
    2) Manziel
    3) Carr
    4) Bortles
    537) Mallett

Mallet is probably better than them all seeing that he had an actual 1st round grade coming out of college.

Depends on who you ask. There's several reputable draft scouts who don't have a 1st round grade on the Might JFF. I have a difficult time recalling who gave Mallett a 1st round grade, but I have slept (and had a kid) since then. So my memory isn't what it used to be.

Also, I understand how you feel about Bridgewater, but show me one reputable draft resource that doesn't have a 1st round grade on him. They may say he isn't #1 overall pick material, but I haven't seen even his biggest detractors say he isn't a 1st round talent.

Every reputable draft scout I have read on have given Bridgewater a 1st round grade.

Everyone else is very up and down

Yeah I haven't seen anyone say that Bridgewater isn't a first rounder, that would be ridiculous IMO unless he's just terrible at the combine.

8 yrs of mallett will yield less than 8 yrs of schaub

I sincerely hope this does not happen.

I'm shocked! Someone suggests something other than picking Bridgewater and you sincerely hope it won't happen!! I'll alert the media.
