Unlike yourself I never thought any of the quarterbacks in this draft are worth a number one pick...

Well yeah Watt wasn't even a top 5 pick in his own draft if you remember, but if we were drafting them over again knowing what Miller and Watt would become, Watt would go first, Clowney second and Miller third.

    I will be for Clowney

Bridgewater is the only qb, I think is worth the number one pick

Especially if he comes in ready during the combine

If both him and Johnny were bigger I would probably think differently about them but whoever gets those two quarterbacks better have good backups.

McNair is in the same position with the #1 pick he was in the previous two drafts he had it... Lackluster quarterback prospects and a dominate physical defensive prospect. He let the organization pull the trigger on a quarterback the first time. I doubt he does it again. Easy for us to say what they should do when we don't write the checks.

With stronger arms. Can't always depend on a quarterbacks arm getting stronger once they get to the pros.

You might be right, he's gone through this twice before where there's been an iffy QB prospect and a great defensive prospect. They got it wrong once, and right the next time.

The closest guy is Bridgewater, but I don't think you can pass on a guy like Clowney.

I think it could actually be foolish to do so.

Don't trust Clowney. Already questions about his desire?!!?
We already went through this with Mario.

Which one was wrong? Bush and VY weren't about much.

When they picked David Carr over Julius Peppers they got it wrong, they learned their lesson and got Mario the next time around. Hopefully they remember that that was the right move and essentially make it again.

Lol, ok. Thought you meant Watt with the "got it right next time".

Do you really trust Clowney though? He's a specimen, but already questions about his heart.

There was a lot of really lazy analysis early on, but now that more and more analysts are actually watching his tape, the questions about his motivation and motor are evaporating, it's not a coincidence. A lot of people looked at his sack count and a couple clips where he was gassed and just assumed that he didn't care, but he was every bit as disruptive last season as he was the season before, the main differences being that his role changed and teams were running away from him all game long.

This gives me more confidence in him. Dude is gonna beast at the combine. Glad to see he did damage in a real conference unlike Mario.

What should we do about QB?

There should be several good candidates in later rounds. Jimmy Garoppolo, David Carr, Tajh Boyd, Brett Smith, Zach Mettenburger, and Aaron Murray could easily all be there in the 2nd round or even the 3rd. I think there is a lot of talent there. This is a really deep QB class and it's not top-heavy. Lots of solid QB's to be had even if some need work.

Perfect example of the lazy analysis that was going around early on. Some are still hung up on it you can see.
