Paul George in the year 2014 (22 games) is averaging 20 PPG on 17.5 field goal attempts per game shooting 39.3% from the floor... Hell last season (79 games) he averaged 16.7 PPG on 14.2 attempts per game shooting 41.9% from the floor. He just got off to a hot start to start the season, now he is coming back down to earth.
Paul George is the perfect third star for a championship team. If he's your best player, you're probably not going to win anything even with an amazing supporting cast like Indiana has.
That'd be pretty deadly actually with PG's defense plus PG doesn't really need to take a lot of shots to be effective
I'll take Harden. I mean, I think Paul George can be very special in this league but he just isn't the efficient monster James is on a nightly basis. The other night James had 35 on 14 shots! And he consistently has those types of games where he puts big numbers on minimal shots. When you're on a team with a lot of talent, being as efficient as possible is very important. Harden does need to work on being a consistent defender but he does have his good defensive moments when he wants too. Another thing on George is that he probably isn't the most important player on either side of the ball for the Pacers. Defensively, he is elite but Hibbert and their strong team defensive mentally have a good portion of why George is so good. George gambles as much as anyone in this league but their team defense is so good at rotating until he can come back to the play. You could argue Hibbert as their most important defensive player. On offense, West has been and is their most consistent scorer. West always seems to the player that keeps the Pacers in games and they wouldn't have won as many games without his consistency. George isn't at that stage of his career where you can give him the ball and expect points in close games. That's still on West.
Agreed 100%. Anyone that's watched Indiana would know he's not a number one option and not the most important player on that team.
Pretty funny to judge this comparison throughout this season. At one point it was a one-sided argument in favor of George and right now it's the complete opposite. Crazy.
Major props to Harden. His defensive numbers surprised and impressed in another thread. And he appears to have cured whatever 3PT slump he was in majority of this season. True Rockets fans rejoice!!
Memphis could finish 2nd in the East if they were over there. Runner up of the East is not an accomplishment, there is exactly one team over there that can win a championship. And it's not Indiana.
noah isnt even a top 5 mvp candidate for me anymore, well maybe he is just thinking about it But you get my point, he has regressed back to the mean, not being able to shoot 55% of mid range shots
