It's almost like you have to say it to prove it to yourself. If that helps you sleep at night, fine. But the truth is that, as time is going on, Kobe's stock is freefalling. A few years ago, the big argument was that even though LeBron had more MVPs and better stats than Kobe, Kobe was better because he had titles and FMVPs. Then LeBron won a title and FMVP. Then he won another. And he'll probably win another this year. So now Kobe fans have to resort to "bbbut he made the playoffs with a bad team!" It's just sad.

Face it, your boy will always be considered second rate living the shadows of truly elite players like MJ and LeBron. There is absolutely nothing groundbreaking about Kobe's accomplishments unless you want to hang your hat on '81'. He will go down as an all-time great, probably most have him in the top-20 (I have him in top-30). But he will never be considered top-tier because he simply doesn't have the resume to back it up.

Kobe won 3 championships by the time he was 23.

In the 2002 FINALS, Kobe dominated with 28/5/5 on 50%+ FG.

But most of all, young Kobe just ripped the hearts out of opposing teams during the playoffs. The Portland Series, The Sacramento Series, The Indiana Series. Shaq was the better player at that point, but I remember how I would be speechless at the way that kid took over a 4th quarter.

Also, in Kobe's defense at that point was probably better than Durant's now.

He uses the same broken engrish and has the same stupid arguments, so it's got to be him. Think they are also the same person as Rockets_Pride and GreatOne1978.

I watched his video, and all i could marvel at was how much space they got because of Shaq. That dude was getting the most coverage i've seen since the jordan zone.

I've been watching basketball for a while now, and I won't be in the "now" "what have you done for me lately?" moment. Kobe to me, is a top 5 player of all time. Just take a look at his overall career and the scope of things he's accomplished. I don't get the reason to say, "Oh, he played with Shaq etc.." because, if you truly watched those games/series, they would not have won without Kobe bryant.

Lmao@Kobe playing second fiddle to Lebron. LBJ will never be top 5 until he wins a ring without 2 other superstars, primarily Wade. People said Kobe would NEVER win a championship without Shaq, he won 2. Lebron got a long way to go kid

That DECISION will forever haunt Lebron's Legacy lol

    This is true.

But you have to understand most of the kids in this thread have personal hatred towards Kobe. The nba is now a popularity contest to brain dead fans who just watch ESPN all day. No basketball knowledge whatsoever. My guess is they hate Kobe because he's too antisocial and doesn't dance around for the cameras like most these idiot superstars nowadays. The hate for Kobe goes beyond basketball with most these guys.

    MJ
    Wilt
    Kareem
    Bird
    LeBron
    Magic
    Hakeem
    Shaq
    Duncan

Kobe is better than at least 4 of these players? Get real.

Kobe's teams won too much without him. One of his biggest calling cards is scoring, yet his teams won more when he scored less and passed more. Those 2 situations are great player blasphemy.

Is this "hate" similar to that of teammates who hated Kobe?

If they didn't have Kobe, they would've kept Eddie Jones. That would've been enough for at least 1 title.

Also, looking at it objectively, it's unreasonable for Kobe to be in anyone's top 5 b/c 1) he's never been widely considered the best player in the league in any season and 2) none of his contemporaries are in anyone's top 5.

Take Lebron, Duncan, Bird & Wilt off that list. Until Lebron wins a ring without a "BIG 3" he will never be a top 5 talent. No short cuts
