http://ftw.usatoday.com/2014/02/evan-turner-spencer-hawes-barack-obama-toilet-paper/ This is not to discuss Hawes' personal party affiliation or even the appropriateness of his toilet paper use-- let's leave these for the D&D forum. I would, however, wonder how this impacts an NBA basketball team. Given the ethnic and political makeup of the NBA, I would think that many NBA players, even many of the non-African American players, would find this toilet paper use to be insulting and inappropriate, even racist. Now, I don't think that most guys mind that Hawes is a Republican (and I remember that Ron Artest was friends with him in their Sacramento days) but I do think that many would be bothered by the Obama toilet paper. Some might laugh it off as Evan Turner did, but others would not. Hawes has been in trade rumors (involving Houston and other teams). I wonder if teams would be reluctant to acquire him now that this fact about him has come to light.
Gonna be awkward when the Sixers when it all and visit the White House. Oh well, maybe Obama uses Spencer Hawes toilet paper.
If the team that he is on wins a championship while Obama is still the president (via trade etc.), the visit to the White House will be awkward.
What an idiot, I mean you would think he would care more about the comfort of his ass than to make some dumb "political statement", you know that toilet paper is like notebook paper!
Awww.... He's just mad 'cause his name sounds like "Spencer Whores" whenever Hubie Brown is calling the game.
