His measurements may not matter either... If you "LOOK" small on the field you're still small. And S.O.S. matters to many teams when picking #1 overall. Those two things combined means Teddy is going to drop IMO. And I think Jacksonville and Cleveland will pass him up if he's still on the board just like St Louis will. And Bortles may fall to the second.
1. I don't think the Jags are passing up Bridgewater, he is taller Russell Wilson and Bradley was a Seattle DC the previous season before this one 2. S.O.S matters little, I don't get what you are saying "Look small", If your 220 on the scale on the , your 220 3. Manziel is much more likely than Bortles to fall to the second A very good chance Johnny falls to the second actually
I'm starting to sway to the Clowney side. I want Clowney or Bridgewater. At this point, I say you take Clowney and you hope that Bortles or Manziel falls to the second, and then you swing for the fences. If not, take Jimmy G in the third. The anticipation is killing me.
Clowney, Bridgewater, or Matthews, in that order. Bridgewater could jump Clowney on my list if he were to measure out well at the combine, but otherwise I'm for taking the best player available. Clowney.
This^ Bridgewater needs to be at least 6'2 and 215lbs I need to see superior borderline elite arm strength down field too Still by far and away the best qb in this draft to me though
Probably won't, but Geno Smith and both are similar plays (Manziel obviously more athletic and a threat with his legs)
Well I don't think Manziel is worth a first round pick but I want him gone long before the Texans second pick, I don't want something stupid to happen.
The more film I watch of Clowney the less I'm impressed. The beauty of JJ is that he is not only killer in passing rusher but he is an unstoppable force in the run game as well. Too easily is Clowney wiped out of the play on runs either towards his area or away. When he does make the stop he does not do so until the carrier has already gained 8 plus yards. He also has trouble losing contain on his edge. He often takes himself out of plays because all he looks to do is beat the lineman with his speed around the edge. He didn't show much of a repertoire all I saw was his spin move that he used to the inside. I also agree with Htown Diehard he doesn't show much leverage on his rushes and as I stated earlier in this post relies too heavily on his speed to get the edge and beat his man, not as much power as you would expect.
Then keep watching, clearly you haven't seen enough. Either that or you know better than all of the experts.
Want to put a tip jar bet on this? Houston, Jax, and Cle all pass on QB's and Bortles not taken in the 1st?
So far I went thru Wisconsin, Missouri, and Tennessee. Pretty much gave my analysis from what I saw, so its not about knowing better than all the "experts".
This is getting juicy! Also, those games I watched film on were on top of what I had seen from him thru the regular season on TV.
That's fair, keep going, if you know what to look for and know what you are watching, you'll come around.
Houston may not take a quarterback. Cleveland still has Brian Hoyer and I don't see the new GM reaching for a quarterback in his 1st draft. It's a possibility the Jags might but they still have other needs and they may go BPA like the Texans will probably do. I don't think Oakland would draft any of them either with their 1st pick. They would probably be better sticking with the two youngsters they have. And the same with Tampa. Minnesota could possibly be a landing spot for one of them. As of now it's just my opinion that they could fall but with free agency soon to be started along with trades (some of these teams may go another route on getting a quarterback) and the combine coming up _ we may can make that bet later. Because the Texans may be looking at a couple of these quarterbacks people are talking about drafting with the #1 pick at the top of the 2nd round.
About the Jags...rumblings are that Bridgewater is the only qb they have graded for the first round, makes sense with what Cosell is saying Rumors also say the Raiders will only take Bridgewater at the 5 position. Those correlate exactly with Cosell's analysis.
Let me clarify They correlate with Cosell's analysis because Bridgewater sounded like the only qb that was worth the risk in the 1st round
