Lol at the people listing San Antonio..... or Houston.

Either you guys are being sarcastic or you really need to travel outside Texas.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I am going for the World Cup. Buddy and I are staying with a pal in Praca Seca? I hear that's not the most happening spot but free lodging is free lodging.

San Francisco. Fell in love with that city when I went last year. Can't wait to go back.

And of course, Huntsville, TX. When I was in college.

LOL that you think you are the authority on where people can have fun.

Been to Chicago, New York, Colorado. Not a worldly traveler, but it's what you make of it.

Thanks for the great info. I have been talking with some friends about going to Brazil and I definitely do not want to go during the Copa or the 2016 Rio Olympics. What do you think about going in 2015 when the infrastructure for those events will already be up but there won't be as big of a crush of outside visitors?

I don't know what your race is but as an Asian I didn't think it was that friendly. I've heard from Japanese that I look very Japanese and also speak a little bit so I felt like I was expected to know and conform to Japanese culture and standards and when I didn't wasn't treated well. Also in some cases some of the Japanese thought I was Korean who are looked down upon in Japan.

If you're not white, you'll have problems in Japan. Racism there is out of control.

First thought that popped in my head was Interlaken. I was there during the summer so no skiing but it was pretty great.

Been a long time since I traveled to a "city" for fun.

    Islands? We'll talk all day.

    Having said that, Maui.
