The same CP3 that never makes any noise in the MVP Voting, or gets out of the first round.

The pg position is the most overrated position in the game because the vast majority can only play 1 position

lol I can't remember if I was mocking you or not for that but Blake has definitely stepped his game even more this year and made it a good debate. I'm still taking Harden though :)

I don't recall anyone saying heir to MJ/Kobe, or as good as LeBron/Durant. The comparison was mainly Harden and saying he was a top 5 current player... which is true.

Great point. Never heard it quite like that.

Reason could be height. Easier to grow 5'11'-6'3'' than 6'6''+.

It was true. Not so true when his shot went south last month.

You said he and Lance were going to regress, not marginally but substantially.

George has, but it's not to the point where he's fallen off the map. Lance has actually done the opposite, he progressed and has picked up the slack so far. Arguably could/should have been an all-star.

Don't be too quick to toot your own horn.

Also Harden and Paul George are in the same tier of player regarding star player positioning. James has more offensive skills while Paul has more defensive skills. They both about cancel each other out.

    I still love Harden.

His 3pt% still makes Harden blush though.

Last 30 games he is shooting less than 41% on the field, and 33% from 3. 20 points on 17 shots.

He's scratching superstar status, he definitely is a 2 way player unlike Melo and Harden. Perhaps his focus on defense takes away from his ability to score more efficiently? I still would rank him ahead of those two for sure.

To get close to Lebron and KD, he's got to learn to be a better and more efficient scorer. He still takes more 3's than he does FTs. He's athletic, but doesn't really finish well around the rim when there is contact. Essentially at times he becomes just a TMac'esqe jumpshooter.

Harden is shooting .329 for the entire season.
    George .370

    My favorite coaching rant.

He is on a team that does not require him to be great all the time, plus they are in the east so they need him playoff time, not needed against the laughably weak east.

But how could a player scratch superstar status when he is barely shooting 40% in his last 30 games? He is throwing up 17 shots a game and barely scoring 20 during this stretch.

Yes, Paul George has superior defense to both Harden and Melo, but whenever you think of a star player, the first question you ask is always his offense. How well a player could anchor the offense of the team?

George cannot do that. He may have been earlier on in the season, but that's attributable to a hot streak. You can throw the ball to Durant, Lebron, Melo, Harden etc. and watch them create or put up points. Could you say the same for George?

Unless George's defense is so good that he could take over the team's defense by himself, I just don't see how anyone could say he is close to a superstar level player.

Nope. No superstar goes through the slump he's gone through. Not even close.

They are shooting similar percentages in their last 30 games. In fact Harden is gaining an advantage. 34% his last 30 games, 35% his last 20 games. 36% his last 10 games.

Paul George on the other hand? 33% his last 30, 34% his last 20, 28% his last 10.

One could easily attribute Harden's poor 3 point shooting woes early on to his injured foot, and they could equally attribute Paul George's shooting success to his hot streak.

Yes he was crowned too soon. People see the next new thing and start going crazy/overrating. Nothing new.

Paul George is closer to Ron Artest than he is to Lebron or KD. Not really slighting him, Ron Artest was a monster in Indiana.
