If the Texans draft Clowney at 1 overall. He has to be considered for short yardage situations running the football. 6'6 260+ with 4.4 speed. I guess this is why I wouldn't make it as a good coach, but it sounds intriguing.
I think BOB would consider Clowney for short yardage situations. Guys like him do not come around too often. I think it would be an interesting wrinkle in an offense.

If Clowney's numbers are truly freakish at the combine then I'm sold. He can be otherworldy. Question is, do we play him as a 3-4 DE or OLB?
I think they move them around a lot. I could see him being called a 3-4 OLB in base packages but he'd play all over the line just like Watt.
I think he will be the "elephant" LB in Crennels defense. Moving around everywhere causing havoc. As long as the Texans draft Bridgewater/Manziel/Clowney I will be happy.
He is too fast and athletic to play inside 1 on 1 with a tackle is the ideal matchup I see 3-4 OLB and the occasional switch to 4-3 DE
If you believe in the Best Player Available draft strategy, there seems to be a lot of consensus around Clowney. We just saw that defense wins Championships. We need another DE and/or OLB. There's a coaching connection. There's a player connection. ...seems like Clowney makes a lot of objective sense if we can't trade back, which I think should be our top priority.
