To be honest I'd rather have the 2 free throws than 1 free and the ball back with 4 secs late.... The Refs couldn't change the initial call but they were doing the Wiz a favor by making it just 1 shot and the ball based on Houston's last possessions.

 

Either Lin just discovered the equation to prove Theory of Everything or he took McHale's job.

 

Lin had that one horrible turnover that led to a Wizards 3 at the other end. Other than that, I thought he did a pretty good job in the 4th. I don't count that 24 second clock violation against him. Harden gave him the ball with 3 seconds left and nowhere to go. And remember, Lin drew the 6th foul on Nene which was crucial in that final play for Harden driving to the hoop uncontested.

 

Refs were on our side tonight, thank goodness...

I really HATE to bag on Lin because there was A LOT of blame to go around but here goes:

Rockets were up 5 points with a little under 3 minutes to go. Instead of just running clock a little, Lin throws the must inexplicable TO from the back court to no one in particular in the front court.. On the TO, Wizards get a 3 pointer.. Why does he do things like that!? He does the silliest stuff at the most inopportune times.

I know Jeremy can do some great things in 4th, but I can understand why there might be the tiniest amount of distrust in him from the coaches. As a PG you have to be smarter than that...

*puts on vintage 2012 flame suit*

 

We should not have been in that position in the first place, Ariza cooled off in the fourth yet we lost another lead.

 

It's because Lin always seems to have turnovers in quick succession so they seem to damage momentum a bit more. Also people spiting LOFs after everyone was on Harden's ass for 7/7 from Ariza.

Right? Lin lost them the 19 point lead and was guarding Ariza when he went nuts. He also didn't want to call timeouts to try and stop the barrage.

A win is a win is a win. An ugly win, but let's take it.

 

That is quite embarrassing. Sums up the coaching staff though.

time and time again people complain about james defense.
But the dude can score at any moment and is clutch.
This is the epitome of what i was longing for after yao and tracy.
NOT dragic, Not K-mart, Not lowry, but JAMES FREAKING HARDEN.
say it all you want but put any other in that situation where hes made 14 straight freethrows and has to make another while also having to hit the game winner and only a handful make it lucky for us we have one of those.
