There's no way they'd even hesitate, they'd flip Wilson and go pick up another game manager to run a team with an even scarier defense.

why is it that a career back up (campbell) and a qb on the verge of being replaced (bradford) are used as an example to compare to the NFL's premier pass rusher jj watt? how in the world when discussing importance of solid qb play did we land on those 2 guys? who do you think is more important to their team's success? aaron rodgers ro jj watt? drew brees or jj watt? cam newton or suh?

There isn't an Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees in this class so there's no point talking about them.

    Isn't a JJ Watt, either.

In either case, this all started from your false dichotomy between the value of a full 11 man defense and the. QB position. There are no full defenses available in this draft, either.

Stop comparing the QB to the importance of a full defense and we don't need to discuss any further.

    There's close to one....

There aren't any full defenses available, but that doesn't mean that there aren't players available that would fill the holes on the Texans' defense which is the same thing.

Stop comparing weak QB prospects to "once a generation" defensive prospects.

Clearly you have no understanding of Wilson's role if you keep using the term game manager to describe him

no chance they make that trade.

both are future HOF'ers, but QB is the position of greater importance.

in fact, no way Seattle trades Earl Thomas for JJ Watt.

DL is not that important in this era of NFL. You can get adequate production from a unit as long as your LB and Secondary is top notch. Unfortunately it does not go the other way around like you suggest. If your secondary blows, it blows no matter what.

    clown3y is a "once a generation" prospect?

    lmaooooooo. turn off sportscenter bro.

he's not even close to the best pass rusher in this draft.

doesnt matter who isnt available in this draft, youre trying to prove that a DE is more important to a teams success than a qb is.. then you load your side of the argument by comparing an elite DE to 2 mediocre qbs..

Rodgers and Brees weren't #1 overall picks. And neither was J.J. But J.J. has been more productive in his first three years than both of them...

J.J. made it to the playoffs offs and won playoff games with TJ Yates and Matt Schaub. Brees had LT and Gates in San Diego.

J.J.'s story is just getting started and if Clowney is as advertised (if the Texans can't trade down) he's probably the best way to go.

Seattle's defensive line dominated the Super Bowl. They hurried Manning all game and controlled the line of scrimmage. You gotta have some studs up front or you may get the ball run down your throat. Seattle just happens to have an elite secondary to go with it. ALOT of underpaid guys on their squad due to when they were drafted. Once everyone starts getting paid to their talent, there will be a mass exodus because of the cap.

HEB would be so mad if they traded J.J. But I seriously doubt McNair is strung out on meth so the Texans would never be doped up enough to make that offer to Seattle...

You want Teddy so bad you ready to ship off JJ. for Earl Freaking Thomas. Well I hope they don't do no crazy *h*t and trade J.J. for a safety regardless of what they do with the #1 pick.

LOL, this wins the internet. This is absolutely the most ridiculous comment I have ever heard before. Both parts of it are equally ludicrous, calling Russell Wilson a future HOFer then saying that Seattle wouldn't trade Earl Thomas for the best defensive player in the league....I mean that's a whole different level of....I don't even know, unintentional comedy.

Nobody knew Brees would be that good thats why he lasted until the 2nd rd. Rodgers slipped toward the bottom of rd 1. So called experts thought Alex Smith was better.

    Bingo

Who ever is saying that there is no such and such player in the draft is demonstrating faulty logic at best.

Its like when people say there is no Brady in the draft...Uh I don't think when Brady was draft they thought there was a "Brady" in the draft

Same with Watt. He was suppose to be a high energy guy that wont get many sacks but will be solid vs the run. Boy did he make ppl look foolish.
