All 610 needed was for Josh Innes to leave, now their afternoon show is ok.

I also remember in 2008, the last time we won 50 games, there was way more Rockets talk compared to this season. John Lopez talked more about the Rockets when he was on 790

Look, if you don't like the Texas that's cool. It's just funny when people justify the hate with statements like "football isn't a real sport" and "they seem like clowns" when they've won more playoff games than the Rockets since their existence.

The Proper Gentleman of Sports show in the morning is really bad. I think they try to be funny, but it comes off as really annoying. All the voices they do with the created people like Texans/Rockets - Karen is so stupid.

They never seem to know what they are talking about sports wise and all they really want to talk about is the Texans and would only talk Rockets because they have to. Whenever they have Morey or Friedman on to talk Rockets, all they want to do is ask stupid questions and drive the conversation way from basketball. Can they actually ask good questionsisjce they are talking to 2 people who are close to the team and know what they are talking about. Morey even pokes fun at their lack of basketball knowledge and bias towards football like he did a couple of days ago. It's just a horrible show, filled with idiotic comments and conversation that's far from the world of sport. They aren't proper gentlemen of sports by any means.

However, I do like Nick and Lopez in the morning. They talk a lot of Texans but that's fine because they actually talk about interesting subjects about the Texans. And when they do talk Rockets, they almost always have their facts right and actually sound like fans of the team.

Overall, 610 is better than 790, in my opinion.

Charlie Pallilo spends a lot of time on his show talking Rockets.

Actually he is one of the best. He talks a lot of Rockets which is the complete opposite of the morning show but that's mainly because of Lance and his football bias / lack of Rockets interest and/or knowledge

Not true, Texans have won 2 playoff games, rockets have won plenty of playoff games since then. Playoff series you mean? OK but not really fair to compare since there are no series in football. Anyway, that's not even the point, I wouldn't all of a sudden love the Texans just because they started winning. Its about the ownership and their past decisions that I can't get behind. I like the hire if bill o Brien though so we will see how this seasons turns out.

And during this 9-1 streak, all sports stations still talk about draft and combine 80% of the time when I tune in.

I listened this morning and it was really really bad. They opened the show at 6 AM with about 60 seconds of Rockets and spent the rest of the hour talking Johnny Football, Combine and Jadaveon Clowney. Pathetic.

The NFL draft is months away. What is going on right now is the Rockets stealing an important game from the Suns, who are a team we could see come play-off time. And oh by the way, it was an absolute nail biter.

There was some Rockets talk in the 7 oclock hour leading up to their Rockets interview and then basically no more Rockets talk the rest of the morning except to defend themselves as to why they were not talking Rockets when someone would call them out on it.

Here is a clue, talk about the local teams and talk about the things that are relevent like a play-off chase and the best team in the metroplex. Mix in some combine if you want but it should not be the focus of your morning sports talk show.

    Ya'll do realize that the 6-5 265 lbs Jadeveon Clowney ran a 4.4 40 today :eek::eek::eek:! I'm just saying...

More than Rockets talk though; I would like to hear more NBA talk. That is something that is literally non existent.

    Big deal.

What's a hotter topic to you? The Rockets in a play off chase, winning a huge game on the road in the last second or .....

    THE NFL COMBINE!

More people talk about football, even the combine, than the Rockets during the regular season.

Its not like they completely ignored them... they pointed out the great win.

The main problem is that regular season basketball is pretty meaningless in terms of analyzing each individual game. Sure, you'll have a big moment here and there, but NBA fandom is cultivated/stoked for playoff series (and deep playoff runs).

Just looking at sheer # of games these teams play, a NFL regular season is MUCH more important than a NBA regular season game, and is basically on par with a NBA playoff game. That is where you need to set your expectation levels for generating "excitement" and sports radio talk.

That's fine during the NFL season, not once the season is done and over. Draft is still awhile away.

    Yes, big deal is correct.

I get it, you love the Rockets and you want to hear about them on the radio. I'm with you. But this is Houston, and the TEXANS rule the airwaves here. This is known. So if you don't like it, don't listen. Honestly, all the personalities that are worth listening to on Houston radio are football guys anyway. I really couldn't care less about their rare rudimentary takes on basketball anyway. And if they started doing that more often you'd just be on here complaining about how they don't know ****. (Seth and Adam notwithstanding, I enjoy thier takes and discussion.)

I hate the lack of Rocket talk.......substantial Rocket talk. Last year with Harden the talk shows were " wow, I don't expect too much from them, but I just want to watch a good game and be entertained."

Now that the Rox are top 3 in West, I don't hear enough serious rox talk:mad:

I don't mind the Texan talk - love the Texans.

As a bonus - I really really get a kick out of listening to Koch & Kalu talk a bit of Rockets. Anything they say I take it as respect to our team, city and to the Texans fans who are likely also big Rox fans. I don't expect serious in-depth rox talk - but just the fact that these football guys respect them and comment on them hear and there - I tip my hat to those guys for that!
