The current winning streak has more to do with the schedule rather than the team actually getting better. Most problems at the start of the season (e.g., inconsistency, poor defense, not protecting the ball etc) are still here, and the lack of improvement has to do with either poor coaching or poor fundamentals (or both). Whether McHale is actually holding everyone individually accountable for their mistakes is still anyone's guess.

Lmao. The entire team surpasses Wilt's 100 point outing.

They beat Phoenix. They lost to them badly earlier in the season. They beat the Mavs in Dallas. They blew a double-digit 4th quarter lead to them earlier in the season(BTW, they won without Harden this time too). And they didn't let up against a wounded, reeling T'Wolves team unlike earlier in the season when they used to give those games away. I would mention the Spurs victory, but the Rockets have owned them all year.

So they deserve some credit for this winning streak. Yes, that includes McHale.

The Rockets are better than the Suns. That first loss to Phoenix had more to do with both Lin and Parsons sitting out than anything else. The Mavs and TWolves aren't contenders, and we're just a good match up for the Spurs. I'm not saying that they don't deserve credit (as you put it) for the streak, but let's not make it more than it is.

This just isn't true. We have won 6 in a row. 9 of 11 and 14 of 18. Our defense has been greatly improved for a while now. With Asik finally back I expect the defensive improvement to continue.

Based on your posting history this one comes off as just another of many that is just hating on McHale and Harden for the sake of you know who.

Glad you are committed to your cause though. Gotta at least give you some credit for that.

Too be fair, while there are still issues, McHale's rotation has definitely improved. Also we got Asik back, that's a huge bonus. Plus, Lin's not disappearing from games any more when his shot's off, he is playing good D and facilitating when he can't shoot. Also, have you seen that man Dwight?

I think Beverly is learning how to facilitate better by observing and playing with Lin. It shows more and more with every game. This game is a crucial win against another notable pg.

Bev almost never throws alley-oops, threads the needle or basically anything that would be considered flashy or risky. He may be getting "better", but he's still not really playmaking to any big degree. It's also why his TOs are generally fewer.

He is there for his defense not offense.

Why do people keep saying this. On most nights when Bev can't guard his man Lin comes over and gets the job done. He's not a better defender at all. Not the least bit. But his style of play doesn't conflict with Hardens thus his nod at the starting job and also they need that player off the bench which is suited to Lin because that's all they have at the moment.

6 game win streak, including some tough teams -- and some of you still can't resist.

There are two reasons Bev starts.

    1. Lin and Hardens offensive game overlap. Lins skill set pretty much fit the ideal 6th man to a T. That's not to say he isn't a capable starter, but on the right team he is exactly what you want as a 6th man. Especially a team with a fairly weak bench offensively.

    2. Whether you want to believe it or not, Bev IS the better defender. Again feel free to disagree, but the people making these decisions seem to feel differently.

I am sorry but you are just plain wrong.

Beverley's defense is jaw dropping at times.

His predictive rotations on the court indicate a Battier-esque basketball IQ and he prevents a ton of otherwise wide open shots.

Some of you people have no idea what you are watching.

The Rockets should win this game, and I hope the East all stars beat the west all stars (too much of a longshot???) so that Howard and Harden get that losing taste in their mouths again before ramping up the trip out west.

I remember when Bev on Alexey Shved and Shved was going off all until Lin switched on him. Bev is a very good defender but not great. Given Jeremy has some height over him but I think Lin's defense is underrated. He's done a very good job as of late and through out the season.

Wizard has been playing some pretty good ball lately, I wouldn't underestimate them.
