You sure about that? Aaron has had one playoff series (against the Lakers) where he was dominant. So dominant, that he won MIP for that year.
I say let's go all out in 2014 and get that third star So Lin for Rodney stuckey Asik for Humphires Both Expirings Who says no?????????????????
The health is starting to come together, they should keep this squad together. If anything should happen it should be a trade for Rondo in the summer but I like our team as currently constructed. Even with the big cry baby, he's a top ten center
This could very well be Moreys approach. Then go after Dirk or Bosh in the summer. Let's be honest with the two trades you proposed the Rockets would get similar production. Then couldn't you go over the cap to resign Hump and Stucky? Bev/AB/Cannon Harden/Stucky Parsons/Garcia Dirk/Jones/DMo Howard/Humphries Pretty solid.
Dirk is staying put. Morey would be risking a lot considering chances of bosh leaving hinges partly on if they win it all this year
Philly trades Hawes to Houston Washington trades Martell Webster to Houston Houston trades Asik to Philly Houston trades Lin to Washington
How about this instead. Lin to Washington Webster to Cleveland Miles/Gee to Houston DMo to Philly Hawes to Houston We keep Asik for something else.possibly a Varajao/Waiters for Asik/#1 deal during the off season? Cleveland gets a long-term solution at the 3 (Webster) since Deng is going to walk on them. They'll still be able to create max space if Lebron wants to walk there. (not)
I still like this if Asik stays for the rest of the season and is on board with playing backup minutes.
Omer Asik is an obvious trade target of the Phoenix Suns. This works: Asik and Donatas Motiejunas to Phoenix; One of the four (!) 2014 first round picks in Phoenix's possession, Emeka Okafor (expiring contract, mostly paid for by insurance), and filler (Dionte Christmas) to Houston. That's easy enough... but Houston likely looks to ship off this return package to a rebuilding team. Here are several possible packages that Houston could maybe get for this 2014 first rounder, Okafor, and Christmas: Anderson Varejao and C.J. Miles Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen Enes Kanter and Marvin Williams Houston can probably live with any one of these three packages.
Need to get Asik to play well the rest of the season and hope he has a better value in the summer despite the much worse financial aspect. Some team would pay 15.5 Million if they thought it would put them over the edge. Don't know if there is enough time to build up that same value? Need to trade our 2014 first rounder+Greg Smith+ rights to second rounder or Portland overseas assets for a decent wing shooter and just call it good. Ariza/Afflalo comes to mind but obviously then you have to matchup contracts. Is Gerald Henderson a good defensive player?
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=m9qa522 i still say asik to miami for expiring vets and their 2016 1st is the best move possible. They need size to push them over Pacers this year and asik for non rotational players increase their chances for the next two years. that's their window
And what do we get out of this? I'm sorry, this trade just doesn't benefit us. An early 2nd rounder is more valuable than a Heat first rounder due to guaranteed $$. It would be more beneficial for us to just allow Asik to sit for 2 seasons than this.
