That 'also from Sam' made the former semi-interesting statement 100% irrelevant

It's classic media chatter with a slight anti Morey bias. Once again, Morey did not sign Dragic because his player option would have killed the 2015 cap space.

    Where you at, King Drew?

I watched Rondo vs Dallas the other night. He looked fine offensively, but he's a long way from being 100% defensively. He was blown by time and time again by Calderon (among others).

I'd be a little surprised if Morey would give up Asik/Lin (AND TJ) for a Rondo package at this time.

    What's the latest you're hearing?

Lin was only offered a contract AFTER Dragic signed with the Suns.

    It's hopeless, Reeko....

Those who don't understand what/how all that went down will never see it for what it actually was and why things happened the way they did.

To some, we should still have Lowry AND Dragic.... and Batum....and Pat.... and Harden and Howard too!

Rondo would immediately ruin the team chemistry and run this year. Man has been out for a long time and has he even played a game for the Celts this season? Bad move.

It's not true. Dragic didn't sign since the rockets wouldn't let him have a player option in the 3rd year of the contract.

a player option that he is not likely to exercise if he continues to play at this current level.

@dmorey said @AsikOmer is a great guy and professional, we tried to honor his request for a trade but looking forward to his contribution.

    Marc Stein:

Behind the scenes, they'll exhaust every possible avenue to see if they can make something happen. McHale wants to keep him. It's a great luxury to have. Asik is not happy. He went to Houston to be a starter. He didn't play for 31 games. A lot of that was injury related but we know he's not happy. We know he wants out. They'd be better served to trade him now if they can. Because of that balloon payment, they can't find anyone willing to take that. GMs like him but then they go to the owner and the owner says "You're saying I have to pay $15 mil for a defensive specialist who's not gonna excite my fans or help my offense?" That has been a sell the Rockets have not been able to pull off. They will be trying no matter what they tell us.

They'd love a draft asset if they can get one but at this point, they're not that choosy. If they can get a wing defender or another backup big, they'd look at it. ... Because the contract has scared everyone off, they won't be able to hold out for the assets they thought they would get (when they established that deadline in December). They thought they'd get something that'd make them happy. ... They can't be as choosy as they'd like to be and that's probably why McHale wants to keep him. When a player is that unhappy, I'm not sure how you make that work.

Rockets are choosy and Les doesn't mind paying Asik or Lin that last year's deal. Unless the Rockets get what they want, those guys aren't going anywhere.

As a pick in roll big, Asik is valuable. I think he may set the best screens in the league.

If the offers are pure junk, keep him and dare him to keep pouting. Explain to him (using small words, of course) that a dominate run in the playoffs will make it 1. easier to trade him in the offseason and 2. help him get his next big contract.

If he can't be traded by now then no one would want to trade for him for next Season just to Pay him 15 mil.

I would trade for Ryan Anderson even if he is out for the year, we would be SET for next season. Think of it as an early off season move.
