Our closing lineup for most games should be Bev, Lin, James, Dwight, and Chandler. Until we make a trade this is our best 5 players and our best closers.

We can see that Beverley is better next to Harden without having to analyze data down to the minutia. But closing out games is not the same thing as starting games.

    Keep this thread alive!

Wasn't it Clutch's intention when he created it?

Agreed. The Lin/Beverley combo is working out well for the Rockets, and Harden's being out for a spell has really improved their chemistry.

If they can keep this up while playing the complementary role to Harden (and if Morey can add that backup defensive SG/SF with the outside shot), our backcourt rotation will be more than solid.

The link was a simple illustration of what we are dealing with and why posters take such a hard line against the nonsense posting of the Lin groupies. These aren't Rocket fans whose simply have a different opinion of what is best for the team. These are individuals whose goal is what is best for the Jeremy Lin, often at the expense of the Rockets.

A difference in opinion is very reasonable, provided we all share the same goal. This is not the case with what we are dealing with here.

Ok, larsv8, admit it, you've been posting over there haven't you?;) Seriously though, when I first joined CF I explained that I had posted on that site before, but there were some posters on there that posted some very offensive stuff, not all, but some - Had I known that I could join CF I would have done that earlier.
Anyways, I'm a Rockets fan and was a casual fan back in the Chase Bud days as I followed him here - then I followed Lin here as well and have become, what I consider at least, to be a real Rox fan. I root for the whole team - still have my favorites on the team, but always want them all to succeed.

That's life's simple fact. We can't force others to like our opinions. There's just one word for this: RESPECT.

Posted in the game thread, but that's just nothing but people arguing about Lin. Meh.

Beverley since returning from the hand injury:

    Code:
    Opponent	3P	3PA	3P%
    POR 3	8	0.375
    SAC 1	4	0.250
    MEM 1	8	0.125
    MEM 3	6	0.500
    SAS 4	8	0.500
    DAL 3	6	0.500
    CLE 0	5	0.000
    PHO 2	3	0.667
    MIL 3	5	0.600
    MIN 4	8	0.500

    Total 24	61	0.393
A couple of bad games (CLE and MEM1) really brought him down. Other than that he's been really solid from deep. Pleasant surprise upon his return. Not sure if he can keep it up but his stroke looks a bit more pure these days, so we can hope. I think teams will be more reluctant to sag off of him now anyway.

Yes pb vs lin thread is a much better place to start this argument again.

Not an argument it's a fact. His three point pointers since coming back have been pretty solid. Nothing to do with Lin, he may be playing on an even higher level, but that's not surprising because his ceiling is much higher

You must be confused about what constitutes an argument. This is simply interesting data. Perhaps if I had included this data for the same stretch it would be an argument:

    Jeremy Lin:
    Code:
    Opponent	3P	3PA	3P%
    POR 2	3	0.667
    SAC 1	4	0.250
    MEM 0	1	0.000
    MEM 0	4	0.000
    SAS 1	5	0.200
    DAL 2	3	0.667
    CLE 1	4	0.250
    PHO 1	1	1.000
    MIL 2	5	0.400
    MIN 0	2	0.000

    Total 10	32	0.3125

PBnJ should both be starting. Harden should come off the bench, proven 6th man credentials.

It's great to have both players! Teams can't key on just one or the other. Personally, I've been enjoying Pat's 3pt shooting and Jeremy's play making. His use of his vision has excelled to a new level lately.

As long as people don't lie on this website, we will be fine.

I think the sample is too small. All players have ups and downs. It is probably more meaningful to look over a long period of time.

That goes without saying, of course, but it's a much better stretch than he's ever had and, as I said, his form looks to be much improved which should lead to long term results.
