I liked the 3 episode arc of the governor until it ended the way it did. There was really no reason to bring him back if he was just gonna do what he did last time.

The characters do what the writers want them to do, not what they would do if they were actual people. And I think the Gov was brought back specifically so they could film a sixteen episode season into the same amount of time they had to film last season which was three episodes shorter. That would also explain the next few episodes, where we're likely to see the characters split up. Again, this allows the producer to film multiple episodes simultaneously. This is just a theory, but it fits right next to my other theory that characters conveniently vanish for an episode or two in order to reduce the budget.

As popular as TWD us, I suspect that AMC is still pinching pennies and forcing the producers and writers to implement cost saving tricks into the series.

Can you blame him? He's a 70 year old character actor, who finally hit the jackpot only to have it taken from him after 30 episodes. He's worked steadily, for almost 50 years, but this is the iconic role that defines his career, and he only got to enjoy it for three seasons.

Ok, I'm late to the party. My brother in law has been trying to convince me to watch this for 2 years and I kept saying I would and deciding not to. I told him that the whole zombie thing just doesn't really interest me much. Finally decided to shut him the hell up and watched season 1 episode 1 last Sunday instead of the Texans because I already knew how that show was going to end. I'll just say that in less than a weeks time, I'm already on season 3 episode 8. Damn good show...even if you think zombie movies are stupid like I do.

Finally caught up on Season 4 and it's definitely, imo, the best season yet. I've loved the stronger focus on character development and all the subtle emotional tones. To me the writing has felt a bit tighter this season. I really didn't have any expectations and my enthusiasm was pretty low after last season's finale, but man they have been hitting the mark. Sure there have been dumb moments, but far less than in the past. And I'm really digging Carl and Rick's relationship right now. He's definitely grown on me.

I'm curious if they plan on following more in line with the comic book. I hope they bring one of my favorite characters from the comic book into the fold. I do agree it's gotten a lot tighter.

It's been a while since we've seen a new episode. I'm glad it's starting up again tonight. We should start seeing a few new characters. I'm excited about this.

    Someone please kill Carl.

    Zombies, passer-bys, his dad.....just anyone.

Carl to his dad, "You can barely walk."......and then does not even help him with the bag of food. His dad was limping and carrying the bag the entire way.

    Disgraceful. Shameful.

Damn. Walking Dead with a fairly deep episode. I liked it for a season premier.

I wouldn't ask for anything more. I'm glad that they actually had some closure toward the end of this episode, while leaving room for the future.

Is it me or was this episode just a rip off of the movie "The Road"

Dammit! That zombie was oh so close to taking a bite out of Carl's leg. Such a zombie tease.
