If the "source" is suggesting that Morey would want to pair Lebron+Bosh with Harden, then he must mean that Dwight Howard would have to be a part of the sign and trade (along with, I think, TJones and Jeremy Lin for contract/talent purposes at least). This would mean that it would be key for the Rockets to keep Omer around for next year or else we don't have a center. My guess is that this is such a remote possibility that Morey wouldn't be counting on it.

boston in : asik + jones Rockets in : bass + sullinger + humpries "expiring" Boston do it - to get asik which they really want and get a young starting PF to replace sullinger. Rockets do it - to get a backup PF in bass, pair sullinger with Howard in the front court so we can matchup clippers, okc, grizzlies in playoffs we have TT like griz with a solid shooter and rebounder in sullinger. Also on same contract as jones. Also we get a serviceable backup 10-15 mins a night center. Boston in : asik + jones rockets in : sullinger + bass + 1st round pick Rockets do it : for same reason above, but without humpries and us getting the first round pick we can be on the look out for a "3 & D" guy in the draft.
Wow that would be a sick team. That would be a dynasty. The best part is there is no way Miami would turn it down. Howard is one of the best players in the NBA and throwing in Parsons is just even sweeter. It's a lot better than letting Lebron walk for nothing. Lebron-Bosh-Asik-Harden would be way better than the current big 3. Harden can shoot the ball so he won't cause spacing issues like Wade does. Miami's offense is better when Wade is on the bench. Also having a center like Asik alone blows Miami out of the water. If Lebron decides to come to Houston this is a trade that is a legit option Miami would accept. Though I'd prefer to keep Howard since he is better than Harden and like Lebron Harden is also ball dominant. Another option is to try and trade Harden/Parsons/Asik/Lin/1st round picks for Bosh and Lebron, forming a big 3 of Lebron/Howard/Bosh. What would you guys prefer in this scenario: a big 3 of Lebron/Howard/Bosh or a big 4 of Lebron/Bosh/Asik/Harden?

I had been advocating for a PG upgrade but it does not appear that any of the trade targets (Rajon Rondo, Kyle Lowry, Ty Lawson) will be available at the right price. So it appears that Jeremy Lin will stay put, and that the James Harden-Patrick Beverley-Lin three-man guard rotation will continue, at least through the end of this season. The front office thus focuses its attention on turning Omer Asik and Donatas Motiejunas into a big upgrade at backup SF/PF and an undervalued backup C. This works for all three parties involved, and is quite simple: Omer Asik and filler (Al Harrington) to Charlotte; Donatas Motiejunas, Portland's 2014 first round pick (from Charlotte), and Ramon Sessions (expiring contract) to Washington; Trevor Ariza and Bismack Biyombo to Houston Charlotte significantly upgrades its frontcourt without giving up anything it values very much. Charlotte seems to perceive Biyombo as a bust despite the fact that he is actually quite productive. Washington creates minutes for recent #3 overall pick Otto Porter and gets a couple of intriguing assets for Ariza, an unrestricted free agent-to-be who they were not going to re-sign. Houston now has an excellent, and versatile, three-man rotation at forward in Chandler Parsons-Terrence Jones-Ariza, an excellent backup C in Biyombo, and has also improved their team defense. Ariza may not be re-signed by Houston this offseason, though. Good trade. I had one similar to this as well. My only question would be: Does Washington think Asik and Jefferson can co-exist on the floor at the same time?
Looks like there is a new rumor out there about an Asik trade. Sounds interesting! The Knicks could improve vastly if they had a healthy big. One such player is Houston Rockets center Omer Asik. Asik is an incredibly agile, aggressive and defensive-minded big. Plus, he wants out of Houston to play on a team for which he can start. It's certainly hard to imagine Houston trading Asik to a Western Conference team. However, a trade with the Knicks could work. If the Rockets included point guard Jeremy Lin in exchange for Chandler and Tim Hardaway Jr., (really any athletic 3-point shooter would fit perfectly with Houston regardless of position), both teams would have a chance to markedly improve. Of course, the Rockets will want more than just backups for Asik. Likewise, the Knicks might not want Lin for fear of pushing Carmelo Anthony out the door (if the rumors are true). You might recall that Anthony's return from injury essentially pulled the curtain closed on Linsanity's run in New York. But to acquire a world-class defensive anchor like Asik, a team like New York must take a risk. To get something big, the Knicks have to risk something big. Chandler simply does not look spry enough to cover up the Knicks' defensive holes, and Asik is a genius at doing just that. Of course, players often are dealing with injuries that fans and the media are unaware of. This could be the case for Chandler. If his agility returns, then expect an improved defense in New York to follow soon after.
Would have to be a 3 team trade then because no way they want to keep Chandler's contract as well. But then again who would want Chandler because we all know Asik is more valuable and better than him at this point. The Knicks of 2 notoriously crippling contracts on their roster and that's Chandler and Stoudemire's. They are a dead stuck franchise with absolutely no hope whatsoever.
I like that trade, we get Chandler as a backup Center, a good young wing player in Hardaway Jr, and we unload Asik and Lin and their large contracts. It is good for both sides. DD
No way,I have my doubts that it could work offensively,but on defense who of them would guard opposing PF's? Jefferson is as slow as Asik and sucks when it comes to D.
Concerning that Knicks trade... I am sure the Dallas fanbase would be willing to take Tyson Chandler... but would they be willing to take STAT as well? That would clear NYK of those heavy contracts. Does Dallas management want to take on those contracts though? Overall though, I don't see more value than keeping Asik. I just think that there could be leverage here. There's no way I'd send Asik to Dallas, but Chandler?
