All credibility lost on this post. from another thread from today: Parsons, Harden and Lin also do well in FG% on drives. Among players who have a significant amount of points off drives, these players were the best at this: LeBron James Kevin Durant Eric Bledsoe Dwayne Wade Ty Lawson Mario Chalmers Chandler Parsons 53.8% Jeremy Lin 53.6% Deron Williams Tony Parker Chris Paul ...(few other players) James Harden 50.7%
Here's a novel idea to cap it all off - how about we use the game threads to support OUR CURRENT players/team and save the Dragic/Lowry love for their own threads, or just go visit the Suns/Raptors fan sites.
Here's a novel idea to cap it all off - how about we use the GARM threads to support our superstars, starting PG and team in general, coaching staff and organization and save the ball hog/iso Harden, McFail and general Rockets organization trashing to other fan sites. Not directing this at you personally, but you get it right? It gets pretty old reading about how terrible the organization is for it's supposed "unfair" treatment of one player.
Like I said, with some posts like this, you'd think that Lowry and Dragic are on the Rockets instead of Lin. Enough already support our players instead of the ghosts of the past. Now, back to discussing today's game. No more distractions.
I know...I don't know how I make it through the off-season when I can barely make it through a few days in between games.
You'll be able to make it through the offseason celebrating our championship and watching the winning Finals run over and over.
How about you leave your childish arguments away from a game thread so that people like myself who wants quick updates don't have to search through multiple pages of crappy arguments to find it. It's a game thread not somehwere where you seem to try and post the post, it's quality not quantity sometimes in the post that matter
Update on what? pages of people saying stuff like Durant drops 50, or trap game - yes game threads are incredibly useful for that. You guys are amazingly welcoming to new members. Thanks.
Riiiiight. When Jeremy Lin was on the Knicks everyone was cheering him on instead of noticing that he single handedly turned a lotto pick into Royce white.
The comparison isn't that far off. Despite what you think, Asian Americans far more marginalized in not just America but the Western Hemisphere including nations such as Australia and New Zealand as a whole. How is it a far fetched notion that his experiences haven't been like that of the latter you mentioned? Remember this kid broke all kinds of records in his first 7 starts as an NBA player.
Lin is different. He's an above average player, but he has the aura and ceiling of a star. That's why he's simultaneously compared to stars and scrubs. It's why he can look like a hero one night and a zero on another. The strong unpredictable influence makes him an X factor. His story and overall persona only added to the intrigue, because it's so uncommon in the league.
I think it is very far off. Owens and Robinson played in a time where it was openly accepted treat African Americans as 2nd class citizens. Remember Robinson played in the negro leagues for instance, that shows you how different times are from now till then. There were dodger players who didn't even want to play with the guy because of his race. Lin isn't being marginalized. When he played well in New York he became a superstar... Also anyone that thinks Lin was signed as a gimmick is a insult to Lin first of all. Because it suggests that Linsanity wasn't good enough to warrant his contract...and it was. Everyone here knows that Les was not happy about what happened. Lin was a STAR in new york. Also they are stupid. If you really think the Rockets want Lin to fail then you are dumb. Period.
Wait wait wait wait wait.... Somebody just tried to compare Jeremy Lin to Jackie Robinson? Is that person okay? Does he need help? Jesus Christ...LOF's man...
