A good review on Bortles Another good review of by Jayson Braddock of Sports Talk790. he did one on bridgewater as well. http://distinctathlete.com/pros-cons-blake-bortles-believe-hype/
I really want them to draft Teddy. I have since before last season even started, when I never thought we'd have a chance to draft him. I could understand drafting Clowney...though I'm scared to death of a guy who was a paycheck player before he even got a paycheck. But Blake Bortles..wow...if they draft Bortles, I'll be really disappointed. I watched the guy play a few times this past season, including watching him beat my Baylor Bears. I don't see it.
Yeah, 1-2 years ago, if you said the Texans could have Bridgewater in 2014 we'd all be ecstatic about it.
I've said this here before, so I'm repeating myself...but I absolutely remember telling my son before the Texans played their first game this last season that I wish we could trade Schaub for Bridgewater straight up. I remember exactly where I was when we were talking about that. Teddy impresses the hell out of me as a pro prospect.
Bortles beat Baylor, he beat Teddy Bridgewater and Louisville, as well as BO'B's Penn State team. It was an exceptional performance lifting an otherwise mediocre Central Florida team on his shoulders...
Bortles reminds me of why Blaine Gabbert was a top 10 pick. He is a physical prototype. I look at him, and see a 3rd rounder. Even though I don't like Bridgewater at #1, I see him as a legit 1st round player, and Manziel as a 2nd rounder. I think the team should trade the pick. I'd look to trade for Kirk Cousins (not with the #1 pick) or possibly ask about RG3...
Scouts actually agree with you with that assessment. Bridgewater is the only legit 1st round qb in the draft
I know he beat Baylor. I watched the game. He had a ton of yards and TD's off screen passes because Baylor couldn't tackle down field after the catch. I also watched their running back run through Baylor's defense like swiss cheese.
UCF defense sucks so Teddy putting up good #s is expected. Louisville have ranked high school recruits on defense and Charlie Strong and UCF won that game with Blake's arm. But the sample size is small on him.
louisville defense was ass. how many times did bridgewater bail that team out? ofcourse their only L was when they couldnt keep a mediocre qb like bortles out of the endzone under 2 minutes..
That's your opinion... Texas has a 25 million dollar opinion that's different than yours about Charlie Strong. And UCF had 31 points on the board before the final two minutes. And just the same _ that's considered a signature win and Teddy doesn't have one.
What? How is Louisville's win in the Sugar Bowl against a heavily favored Florida team not a signature win? That's a better win than Bortles could ever claim.
I can almost guarantee that bigtexxx didn't even watch that Louisvillle UCF game. He never says anything specific other than "but his team won". He is not a very good arguer.
bigtexxx believes that the only games players participate in are the ones he sees with his own eyes. If he didn't see it, the game didn't happen, hence trying to bring up those games would be like trying to teach a fish how to ride a bike.
I'm speaking of this past season. But yes _ Teddy does have one signature win in his career. No argument about that.
