he's greatly improved his post game, but the refs bail him out almost every time he awkwardly screws up his own shot.

He doesn't have a particularly high FT rate for someone who plays in the post most of the game.

And he can dribble coast to coast, which is impressive for a power forward.

by not particularly high, you mean the highest post free throw rate in the nba right?

I mean just what I said. He shoots about what you'd expect from someone who plays in the post that much. Howard and Cousins shoot more and guys like Love and Lopez are comparable. Is there a particular post player that doesn't get these calls?

Uh Dwight? he's basically spent his whole career getting virtually no calls at all, except for the 5-6 tackles he receives from the opposing middle linebacker, err player. And no, none of them have a higher free throw rate on post play than Blake, Dwight isn't even close, but nobody in the nba does.

Well, he goes to the line more than Blake despite taking a lot less shots. Yeah, some of that is hackashaq but even with it, it's going to be comparable. Point is that it's not like Griffin is getting a ton of calls other players aren't. If you want to make that argument for KD or Harden, I get it, but it's not like Griffin isn't getting hit out there.

Point is, he is getting a ton of calls other players aren't. Just because you want to chuck on your clipper homer glasses doesn't change that.

Let me repeat this again for you, he has the highest rate of fouls called in the post in the nba, Dwight on the other hand is one of the lowest.... Yes Dwight goes to the free throw line a lot, but it's not from his post play.

Where are your stats coming from and what exactly are we looking at here? Maybe it is my "clipper homer glasses" but I don't see Blake getting a lot of cheap calls that send him to the line. In fact, because of his jock face or kia commercials or whatever, he actually gets hammered a heck of a lot.

He really has stepped up his game this year. Up to this year I thought his stats were somewhat hollow, but after seeing him a few times this year I can see that either I was wrong on him in years past or he has become a much better player.

No, until last year he was basically a dunker with the occasional post move. He's really worked on his game this year.

Blake's a much, much better rebounder. And while he's not a great defender, he's better than Amare ever was.

Amare's face-up game and midrange J is/was miles better though.

Most NBA players who became superstars took a leap in their game from their 2nd year to 3rd year. Blake actually regressed in his 3rd year. Now in his 4th year he is finally taking that leap.

It was a good game. Teams are still going to slow him wayyy down in the playoffs I believe he still doesn't have the repertoire needed to succeed in the playoffs.

No he didn't. He just played way less minutes last year. His per-minute stats are actually pretty consistent. He has added a lot more depth to his offensive game the last two years though by becoming a better shooter.
