Just because he didn't put up big numbers doesn't mean he isn't capable. Pete Carroll has complete trust in him. Why would Russell Wilson do anymore than what he had to?

If they're selling donuts for a dollar, why would you pay $5? You wouldn't, doesn't mean you can't, just means there's no need to.

Uncle Bob needs to STFU and, with his son, stop thinking they know anything about football and upon this realization, hire some real football people with real control over the product on the field.

Because some are insinuating that QB play is not as important as having a great defense to winning a Super Bowl, which correlates directly with our dilemma with the #1 pick. And with Seattle's defense dominating in the Super Bowl, some are using that to blow off the need for a QB, thinking that it's just as easy to build a league leading defense and that all you need is a "game-manager" at QB. But they are ignoring and/or underrating the abilities of Russell Wilson.

Given that Manziel and Bortles don't have 1st round draft grades from most team (probably ours as well), It will probably come down to Clowney or Bridgewater

    Clowney with the edge

Just because your supposed 'scout buddy' says this doesn't mean we are going to assume this is true.

Just watch the first few minutes of this game. No sacks but look at the impact. Look how many times the offensive player whiffs while trying to guard.

    Clowney is a force

I could see Clowney playing end with Nix in the middle and Watt at the other end position

Not that this is an end of the world thread...but I like that idea.

I don't see how we get Nix too, but I'd start with Clowney and Watt and take my chances at 2:1 (boyd or, shutter, carr); or via trade 3:1 (tops ) for Mallett. If we deal for Mallett, maybe at 2:1, take Nix there if he falls. Good place to be in.

Too good to be true :

    Clowney 1:1
Nix 2:1 or trade up to get him.
Mallet (via trade of 3:1, and next years 4th, or so)

If all else fails play schaub for 16 games and take Winston next year at the 1:1. :D (knock on wood, I was kidding)

I could see the Mallett trade happening, BOB was talking him up while at Penn State

Clowney, Nix and Watt could be virtually unblockable and no doubt Crennel would like to have a combo of Watt and Clowney to work with

I ultimately want Bridgewater but if we pass on him, its got to be Clowney.

Don't think Nix will last that long; if Mcshay and Kiper's mock draft is legit at all, he will go to the Steelers at 15

You pick a guy. One guy. I'll take Mallett. $10 tip jar bet.

Your guess is as good as anyone's, at this point, but likely not any better.

I'm not sold on Hopkins being our #1 guy post-AJ. If Watkins proves himself to be the best player available, or at least best offensive player available, I would have no gripes whatsoever with the Texans taking him, though they should look into trading down if they want him.

Then the obvious choice in the 2nd or 3rd round is Tajh Boyd since you know he already has chemistry with Watkins and Hopkins.

Then I'd spend the rest of the draft on defense and use FA to address the right tackle situation.
