It's never gonna happen, if anyone could have done it it was dream. Hakeem Olajuwon in his entire career never had 9 steals, he had 8 three times. He only had 10 assists 5 times in his entire career. 10 assist games are extremely rare for non guards, 10 block games are extremely rare for non-centers. Kirilenko another good candidate only has 1 career 10 block game, he had 8 steals one time, never 10. 10 Steals has only been accomplished 13 times by itself, the odds that you could get 10 steals, blocks and assists are astronomical.
Hard to see it happening in the modern NBA. Maybe the NBA way in the future will go through another evolution and go back to how it was in the 60's-70's to have a stupid amount of possessions per game.
Steals and blocks weren't an official stat until the 70's. Shame we don't know what Russell and Wilt did.
He won't even get a quadruple. (like that's a knock, lol) Would be crazy! There hasn't been many triple doubles without points.
I bet Wilt did / could have if he wanted to. Wilt was a nut about stats and had they kept all those back then, and had someone challenged him to do it, he could have gotten it with points, blocks, assists, rebounds, and steals.
He probably could have got a quadruple double, but again I'm not so sure he could get 10 steals at 7'1" and playing center. As someone mentioned, even Olajuwon could never get ten steals.
Nate Thurmond also according to link: Code: <table id="anyid" class="alternate_rows" width="100%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" align="center"> <tbody> <tr> <td colspan="10"> <div class="table_header_scalablenba"> <div class="hd"> <div class="c"> <div class="scalable_text"><strong>NBA All-Time Quadruple-Doubles</strong></div> </div> </div> </div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="15%"><strong>Player</strong></td> <td width="20%"><strong>Team</strong></td> <td width="20%"><strong>Date</strong></td> <td width="10%"><strong>Opponent</strong></td> <td width="7%"> <div align="center"><strong>Pts</strong></div> </td> <td width="7%"> <div align="center"><strong>Ast</strong></div> </td> <td width="7%"> <div align="center"><strong>Reb</strong></div> </td> <td width="7%"> <div align="center"><strong>ST</strong></div> </td> <td width="7%"> <div align="center"><strong>BS</strong></div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>David Robinson</td> <td>San Antonio Spurs</td> <td>Feb. 17th, 1994</td> <td>Detroit</td> <td> <div align="center">34</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">10</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">10</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">2</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">10</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Hakeem Olajuwon</td> <td>Houston Rockets</td> <td>Mar. 29th, 1990</td> <td>Milwaukee</td> <td> <div align="center">18</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">10</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">16</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">1</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">11</div> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Alvin Robertson</td> <td>San Antonio Spurs</td> <td>Feb. 18th, 1986</td> <td>Phoenix</td> <td> <div align="center">20</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">10</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">11</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">10</div> </td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Nate Thurmond</td> <td>Chicago Bulls</td> <td>Oct. 18th, 1974</td> <td>Atlanta</td> <td> <div align="center">22</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">13</div> </td> <td> <div align="center">14</div> </td> <td></td> <td> <div align="center">12</div> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
First of all, pentruple doesn't exist. Secondly, "triple" would mean three digits (100+ of any stat). Come on, now, man... do some better trolling.
A more realistic goal would be a CAREER quintuple-double: career highs > 10 in each of the five stats. This also has never been achieved.
I mean, I've done it in a couple of pick up games. Then again, thats me and I'm not sure others were blessed with the same talents. Spoiler Keeping the stat keeper on payroll
AK47 came very close- 8 steals steals were also not recorded until 1974 a guy who might have done it was Oscar Robertson, who got a lot of blocks for a guard and certainly had the other 4 covered, if steals had been kept
