Couldn't agree more about Dear Zachary, but documentaries are movies, just so you know. It's available on YouTube for anyone interested. But whatever you do, don't look it up, don't watch a trailer or browse reviews. Just click that link and watch.
That was an excellent book - It truly changed how I felt about HS football for a long time. I felt for Boobie Miles - His coaches, teachers, and his father all let him down by pushing Pro Football aspirations on him and allowing him to fail at everything else in life including his schooling. He had a free ride in college and flunked out because he wasn't use to doing schoolwork. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boobie_Miles Miles attended Ranger College for a year and played as a fullback before flunking out and has since had trouble holding jobs. He then spent some time playing semi-pro football in Culpeper, Virginia though he was never able to regain his high school form or confidence in his ability. He regrets trying to play on his injured knee before having surgery to repair it.[5] He has two children who live in Midland with their mother. As of August 2009 Miles lives in Dallas and is not working. In May 2009, he was charged with aggravated assault. Police said he struck his stepbrother repeatedly in the head with a beer bottle. He received a sentence of five years' deferred probation in district court. The charge will be dismissed if he successfully completes probation.[6]
Crying and tearing up are two different things. And yes I got a little teary eyed when Rue died and Katniss saluted District 11. It was a powerful moment.
Hachi (I cannot watch sad animals especially when thy are getting older). Hotel Rwanda I really did not like the beginning of Up. Why in the world would you start a childrens movie that way
The real Boobie has several cameos in the movie as one of the Permian coaches. And yes, as is usually the case with movies based on books, the book was MUCH better than the movie.
