Yep. As a matter of fact, only 4 teams (OKC, SA, LAC, HOU) rank in the top ten in both offensive and defensive efficiency.
Our defense is most definitely something that can be exposed by elite teams, but I wouldn't sum this team up with DEFENSELESS. Statistically, this is a top 10 defense, and has lots of room to grow. As someone in this thread mentioned earlier, inconsistent would do the Rockets a lot more justice.
This isn't true. The Rockets are ranked 16th by defensive rating (amount of points allowed per possession). And they are only ranked 8th offensively. Those aren't the stats of a true contender, like Oklahoma City or Indiana, but perhaps this will turn around as Houston becomes fully healthy.
They're probably looking at Hollinger's Team Stats which has us at 6th in offensive efficiency and 10th in defensive efficiency. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats
How are those stats so wildly different than BBR's stats? Like pace is way different between the two sites and def eff/drtg are vastly different when they're both supposed to depict points given up per 100 possessions...
Points per possession doesn't count offensive rebounds, thats why our offensive is better than you think.
Greg and every other media can say what they think they see... I'm not going to say we're the worst but we definitely have a lot of room for improvement and our team defense sucks... Truth hurts no matter if you like it or not... The media knows our team defense sucks and we know it also. If they don't like hearing that, then work on your freaking defense... T_Man
This is so true. Fan mentality. Maybe if more people on the outside take shots at us it will unite the fan base and slow down the bickering As for the defense, I think it's gotten better. Maybe I'm too patient but this is team that's still learning to play together. We've seen stretches of good, sometimes great, defense. It just needs to be more consistent. There's that word again. Dang.
Old thread, my girlfriend was a little annoyed by Anthony last night, saying that the Rockets had to not play like the "Rockettes." Sexist, and doesn't make any sense. I'm surprised there isn't a little more outage about it.
This is the same dude who had Patty Mills on for an interview and just made fun of Australian people throughout the interview, then at the end when they hung up with him said something like "alright mate time for a Fosters".
