You think the $600,000 he paid out 2 weeks ago was a hoax? Haven't heard any accusations yet.

Not insuring is simply fun gambling that he can afford to do. Congrats to the winners.

It will cost him money but I doubt $7m worth. $7m retail cost of furniture probably cost him like $1m. Furniture is marked up an absolutely astronomical amount.

You can't buy advertising this good. The man is simply a genius at promoting, and I'd love to see him run for Mayor.

I'm guessing Mack got cocky after he ran this promotion in 2009 for the UT-Bama game.

Lots of horn fans probably made Mack a small fortune that week.

Well, let's not forget furniture has like a 200-400% markup...

So, he lost a bit, but in the end, he will be just fine.

He probably looked at it as the same as putting big bucks on the game in Vegas the only difference being that if he lost, he helps people out by furnishing their houses. If he won his bet, he'd have made tons of cash

Source: Wikipedia. I think this quote provides some perspective on how much this loss hurts him. Obviously, not as much as we might think.

With mark ups and tax wizards I doubt it costs him a dime.

Supposedly he had some kind of gym business up in Dallas, where he offered lifetime memberships to people, the business went under and he took all the money and fled to Houston to start up Gallery Furniture.

Remember some of the chatters in the rockets stream talking about it.
