Took a look at the MLB Extra Innings package that rely on local and RSN feeds for content. Under that scenario, we'd have no local feed if Comcast blows up. So I guess we'd have road and home games with opposing team announcers on TV and Online. This is pretty much an alacarte model for viewers much like some providers have offered up to CSN H and were rejected. I recall Crane wanting all fans to have access not those just willing to subscribe to CSN H for an additional fee. What kind of revenue would come directly back to the Astros in this situation?
Nothing is likely to happen until the 2/4/2014 hearing or possibly something will get filed in the day or two beforehand. I wouldn't expect anything until next week.
Bad news. Everyone involved in this deal is a r****d and we will never get to watch CSN Houston on Direct TV or Dish.
Maybe...but if that was really in the judge's plan, he would not have ended the abatement of the motions and set them for hearing.
Man I feel bad for you guys, I can't imagine if this ever happened to us in aus. Maybe you guys should start a petition or something (I kid, I kid)
We just need a few unruly Aussies to riot over here and set some people straight. Gotta turn up the heat!
I think it depends on the evidence and arguments made at trial. Remember that the judge in this case is a very practical man. If there are facts brought to light at the hearing that lead him to a practical decision that does not involve a ruling. If he does rule on the merits, it may not happen the day of the hearing. Often, judges will listen to all of the testimony and the evidence and take the matter under advisement. A ruling would then come at some point in the future after all the testimony and evidence have been reviewed. Also, it may depend on whether he wants to write an opinion.

I hope that is against the rules as long as this drags out. The Rockets are blacked out on NBA TV so the Stros hopefully are too on MLB TV!!!!
The Rockets could do the same thing with heir games if the NBA would create an emergency exception to the territorial restrictions that are league imposed. If the Rockets can't work out a similar deal, blame the NBA for that.
http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/2014/02/01/crane-doing-all-he-can-to-get-astros-on-tv/ Astros owner Jim Crane has spoken to MLB Network as he prepares a contingency plan to get the Astros on TV. The team’s next day in court is Tuesday, when bankruptcy Judge Marvin Isgur is to hold hearings on the Astros’ motion to dismiss the involuntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition filed in September against the partnership that runs Comcast SportsNet Houston. “I think there’ll be some significant movement on Tuesday,” Crane said. “The Rockets are the lead negotiator now — and they’ll be hopefully presenting some of my work moving forward to get coverage, get the coverage for everybody to watch, not only Comcast but the rest of the carriers and then get a deal that we can live with long term — that we can support the team with and use those revenues to help the team. “We’ve gone out pretty extensively and said no matter what happens here, we hope something gets resolved, (that) we get the games on through this vehicle with Comcast. But if it doesn’t, we’ll be in a position where we can get the games delivered to the fans in some form or fashion with MLB Network. We’ve talked to them. We’re making contingency plans. We want the fans to see the games. We can’t go another year without seeing the games, and same way with the Rockets. They feel the same way.” The hearing on the Astros’ motion to dismiss the case is at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. If the motion is granted, it would result in the Astros’ taking back their broadcast rights. Crane last had dialogue with MLB Network on Friday. “I had a long conversation with them,” Crane said. “Basically, it depends what happens with Comcast. Somebody’s going to have to run that station and basically produce the games. We either have to produce those outside or produce those with their people that are used to doing that. How that works, and then whether we stream it or whether we go as an adjunct to a channel off of that (isn’t decided).”
LOL at presenting Crane's work..... He's a delusional jackoff. How do the Astros generate revenue off the MLB extra innings if the blackout is lifted?
They don't - but they don't lose money either. It's just a short-term solution for the fans to see the games while they are sorting out the long-term situation.
