McHale conserving Parsons energy for tonight's festivities on Harden's party plane and for an all nighter in NYC.

Maybe now Parsons avg minutes can come down :)

But yeah, don't think this has ever happened before to Parsons.

So one benching of Parsons is the same as benching Lin throughout the year?

If Parsons had a problem i guess he's not showing it outwardly. I wonder if anyone got an interview with him this evening

Won't matter. They don't remember Dwight Being benched in multiple 4th quarters in favor of Omer Asik earlier in the season.

Exactly. McHale goes overboard sometimes in all directions. Still it was a good move overall. DMo's D and Lin's all around play got us back in the game. Got to give credit to McHale for his substitutions at the right moments. Above average and slowly but mostly surely he is getting. Won't here me complain about it. Lin DMo and Casspi all deserve to be in the rotation. Hopefully Asik returns and gives us solid minutes as a backup as well.

I would give it up now. When Van Gundier (CH) falls in love he falls in love hard and will never concede to anything no matter how logical.

Mark Berman: "You benched Parsons, only 19 minutes tonight, why?"

McHale: "I just felt the team played more balanced with Chandler out of the game."

I think McHale just didn't want Parsons to embarrass himself anymore with another failed alleyoop :p

Hilarious...so is he saying the ball moved better with him out of the game? Sounds familiar.

That's 3 straight games where McHale has made substitutions that helped the Rockets win. I'm stunned.

That is silly, people complain about Lin can not get back to the game when his sub shoots 1 out 8

You are just being silly. People complain about Lin not be able to get back to a game when his sub shoots 1 out 8 like Brook did in the game against Knicks not when his sub does well. Parsons' sub did very well tonight. And it is only his first benching, so get over it.

    1. Lin is averaging 31 minutes per game. He isn't being benched that much. Even when he sat longer than usual one game, he still gets an opportunity to play the next.

    2. The reasons why Parsons has more rarely sat out crunch time are 1) he has for the most part been consistently pretty good and less mistake prone than Lin has been, and 2) the Rockets backups at his position-- Garcia and Brewer-- have struggled most of the season, especially with their shots, while the options at PG-- Beverley and Brooks-- have performed better than Garcia and Brewer and are more viable options.

    3. The point is not how often a player sits, it's that a player will sit if the coach has reasons to believe that another player or another lineup is more likely to help win this particular game.

These threads/posts to let the air out of the Jeremy Lin good game balloon are terrible.

Jeremy has a good game, and people are so quick to throw a wrench into things

'Remember this the next time you complain about Jeremy's minutes'

Let's just tip the cap to him and be happy that the ROCKETS got the win.

LOH and LOH who don't realize their LOH are worse than LOF
