Actually this is the most damning evidence for Asik faking his injury. The Rockets were constantly pursuing trades during this whole time Asik's been "injured." And NO REPORTS came out regarding teams shying away from Asik because of his injury. None. You say the media sensationalize news, then tell me why Woj and other writers did not even mention how Asik's months long injury, which generally are incredibly severe and basically renders players untradable, in any of their reports. It's not as if there were lack of reporting overall. There were only daily reports stating Asik will make $15mil next year.

If anything, it's the lack of media scrutiny that makes everything so clear. If there's news, then people would report it. But there aren't any, so there's only vague stuff about vague injuries and vague timetable.

I can't see the trade coming foward and us just keeping Asik

The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

You don't know that. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that we're way too confident he is faking it. You would think there would be a leak about that too by now. Someone in the locker room, or in the organization would have hinted to anyone that he was faking it.

Faking an injury is a big deal, and I have a hard time believing they would allow such a thing. Morey has specifically said it is a swelling issue, it's not like some invisible symptom that only Asik can feel, it's visible...supposedly.

The organization could clear this all up right now with a quick photo of Asik's knee. Remember, it's not the thigh bruise keeping him out. And yes, he would have missed the game for a thigh bruise if he was starting...Terrence Jones did...

Remember the Rockets SUSPENDED Hakeem when they believed he was faking an injury. Granted it was a different era, with different management and ownership (right?).

Absence of reporting != Absence of evidence. This seems to be English vocabulary fail on your part.

If you want to say there's no evidence, then you need to point out to me that it's very common for reporters to ignore injuries when talking about potential trades. Therefore, the absence of reporting during the Asik trade talks therefore cannot be construed as being special.

So can you mention a few trades where a player out due to months long injury gets totally ignore by the press?

I read somewhere that the MRI showed nothing serious. (His knee)

Not Saying he fakes it but fishy

That's correct. The organization has said that the MRI is negative, but the swelling keeps coming back when they ramp up his work outs.

No, you're being nitpicky because I made a valid point.
I'm on your side saying that I believe Asik has a minor injury, but isn't playing due to the sand in his vagina. The difference is, I'm not ruling out possibility that he may actually be injured while you are completely dismissing it. My gut feeling tells me he can actually play, but his injury may be a realistic possibility.

for me, everything was explained recently when we were able to see that Asik interview where he referenced how he was a starter last season... I can't repeat the interview verbatim but IMO it was obvious the dude was just butt-sore about being a role player again

What do you want them to say? The MRI is negative and his knee keep swelling when he ramps up his workouts. They don't know why it keeps swelling or what's causing it.

So how can they put a timetable on something that they don't know? If they don't know what's causing it, then they don't know when it will heal.

So there is no diagnosis, and therefore there can be no timetable.

You said you are usually a rational person, but in this case you are not being rational.

    you misunderstand him.

they asked him ''your teammates told you that they need you. what does it mean to you. how much can you help this team.....''

and he said that they played well last year, too and know how to play together etc.

he just want to say that he knows that he is important for the team.;)

Nothing was explained. Yes, you can tell he'd rather be starting than being a back-up. But that doesn't mean he isn't legitimately injured.

Yes, he is probably "butt-sore" about not starting, but to use that as proof that he's faking an injury is quite the jump.

He is mostly worried that his next contract won't be 12mil--14mil/year.

With 10pts, 10rebounds from last year as a starter, his next contract will be 12mil-14mil.

All of these guys that have been playing (uhhhh, yea, playing) have minor injuries at this point.

Anyone that believes this is purely injury and nothing else at all are really not seeing it clearly (IMO).

If he was hurt and that was all, he would be on the bench more often. Look at his body language when he has been on the bench.

This why Omer should be traded. Why keep a player that does not want to be on the team? Get someone else who will at least try to contribute and wants to be on the team.

JVG calling out Omer on the broadcast.

...Omer Asik, he is basically holding the Houston Rockets hostage because he is not starting. I don't care what anyone says, he's still not unable to play and it's wrong. So much of this game is mental. Asik was one of my favorite players because of his defense and rebounding ability but if you're not mentally right, you can be of no help. Breen: And that's a question mark with Bynum. JVG: Exactly. Now it's a question mark with Asik. Play for your team, play for your teammates. It's been three months.

leave it to JVG to turn a Pacers conversation into a conversation about the Houston Rockets. JVG is the Rockets unofficial Mascot. Never change JVG.

Would any team be stupid enough to give Assik a 50+ million dollar contract? Probably, but they better make keeping him happy priority number one or they're going to need a wholesale supplier for pampers.

I thought it was said that Asik has always been with the team just not on the Bench. I don't remember who it was but they said he was always in the Locker Room during games.
