"The mindsets that exist out there"? D and D stands for Domination and Disparagement. I thought they made that place a 2-way street a long time ago? Guess not.
Seems like a good spot to tell you that you're off of my ignore list, giddy. I never liked having you there, since this forum is the only one where you always seemed to drive me crazy with your posts, but I've recently added a couple of dozen yahoos from the GARM on my list, looked at your name and thought, "This is rediculous! Giddy doesn't belong with these chumps." So I'm going to see if I can exercise self-control, and when the one or two topics come up that you always post in, and always manage drive me batty with you overwhelming persistence, I'm going to buck up and see if I can restrain myself. - (not that you should care!)
Oh I care and I'm glad to be off your ignore list. Don't use that tool myself. You have, I think, inadvertently, chimed in with what I found perplexing about B-Bob's post: your "side" only seems to care about "my" side caving in to your side... a.k.a. my overwhelming persistence moves you to IGNORE me. B-Bob dooms me to some intellectual ghetto "out there." How do I tolerate your equally overwhelming persistence? I'm in it for the discussion not the victory. I KNOW that there are minds that will likely not change. If you believe in something, you should take a stand though. I try to be honorable and respectful to others. I have succumbed to a few taunts in years past but I've learned to take it more in stride. Hope that you understand my position on this and that I remain in good graces even though we may disagree from time to time.
I don't think they're trolls, I suspect two of them are paid shills. I'm not sure what their goal is, probably to discourage young Democrats and sway independents.
Enjoyed the sarcasm. I'm not going to apologize for my post. Why do I care if you are leaving the D&D? I have left the D&D multiple times for similar reasons as B-Bob, and I didn't feel the need to make a mournful post about it.
You know what? I would like to personally apologize for the post above and the other one related to it. B-Bob did absolutely nothing wrong for announcing his departure; on the contrary, he made the smartest move possible: leaving the D&D. Maybe I should follow his example.
I wonder how he lost his rookie status , he was on course to being a perma-rook for the next decade with his atrocious posts.
More disturbing than the political debate is the anti-Muslim posts and sentiment going on here. It's really eye-opening and the views of many people here are so disturbing that I am shocked. I am surprised no one is addressing this.
Sweet Lou/New Yorker discovering his emotional side. I find it really eye-opening that someone can post for years as a fake neo-con and then comes back to post as a fake emo kid white knight for the poor Muslims.
I think it's been addressed. But there is no point having the same argument every time ATW puts out a post bigoted against Muslims or Islam.
"Tone it Down" doesn't refer to the content of posts, it refers to personal attacks against other bbs members for example, calling them bigots anti-religious posts are perfectly appropriate for the D&D
It's "bigoted" to criticize stonings? It's "bigoted" to criticize that hundreds of millions of people want to see someone killed who doesn't want to share their ideology anymore? Interesting.
Cultural relativism doesn't allow for criticism or other moral evaluation of another culture. Come on, ATW.
I guess it's anti-Muslim to criticize ISIS? I guess it's anti-Muslim to say it's wrong to fire rockets into Israel? I guess it's anti-Muslim to say it's wrong for the Iranian Ayatollah to threaten genocide against Israel?
