I know it isn't Howard's option to take, but it'd be nice if he could bow out and give his spot to Parsons. We don't have to worry about Dwight's long term health being affected, and Chandler should have made the cut anyway, in my humble opinion. Pity it doesn't work that way.
Do they even have to practice? Theres no way team usa would lose in any international basketball events its gonna be a blowout every game. So dwight might just play 10min a game

Still, no thanks. Losing Yao in '08 during the 22 streak and '09 after game 1 up against the future champs was enough. Demarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis, Kevin Love & LaMarcus Aldridge can hold down the 4/5 spot.

basketball may not be america's favorite sport, but out of all the summer and winter olympic events, it is certainly the gold medal that is considered the most unacceptable for america to lose so being on team USA should generally be considered an honor and something of a matter of pride. now granted, outside of spain always playing its A++++ game in the gold medal game, we have been winning easily lately, but it's still good to be on the team and try to make sure we don't lose the gold medal. although it does seem weird to want to be on the world cup/championship team since that's not as important to the US as the olympics.
