Islam is not above criticism. Christians and Jews deal with criticsm and handle it appropriately.

Ah, Deckard, without a few circumspect trolls, there would be no "danger or doubt" necessitating one to run in circles, screaming and shouting. Where's the fun in that?

As an example, I chose my moniker based on two observations, evolution and the arena.

An accepted evolutionary theory postulates that the human species evolved because of opposable appendages on each hand (thumbs). Without them our fingers would not work efficiently to fashion the technological advances we so cherish. Similarly, opposition thought, no matter how outlandish, often furthers our perceptions by "thinking outside the box" rather than tacitly accepting the norms of a herd mentality.

The arena gave us the concept of "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" decisions of life or death. How often have you seen the immediate, near violent reactions to "counter culture" or, perhaps, as in this forum, the "counter counter culture?" You know the posters who cannot stand anyone or anything that is in disharmony with their own pedestrian views.

So, don't be so hard on trolls, whoever they might be.

Well, it's been fun I guess, for going on 12 years on and off. I'm thinking if I post "I'm out" right here, that I will now stay out of D&D for good. I've learned a lot about the mindsets that exist out there, but I find I'm not learning anything new in more recent times.

Even when it's barely civil, it's usually not productive. And even when it's civil, it's as repetitive as a goto loop started on an Apple II in the early 1980's.

Good luck everyone! Keeping fighting the good fights as you see them, and try your mightiest to tone it down, when you can. See y'all in the other forums.

I can understand why a lot of y'all don't want to post in the D&D much anymore but that is one reason why it's going downhill. I don't post much in the D&D anymore, but that has more to do with work and other things. Instead of just abandoning the D&D why not just post more selectively? There's a lot of tripe I just ignore but every now and then there are some good discussions and info.

Will definitely miss Bob even though I'm not around that much anymore.

The trolls are killing this forum.

Have you left again? Can't say as I blame you. Having said that, I look forward to your inevitable return, B-Bob, however long it may take. See you around the BBS!

You are one of the few things that makes this part of the forum tolerable. Someone, and I declare that someone to be you, has to maintain a bit of levity around here.

Or just post more in the Hangout.

These D&D glory days I hear about, were they before 2005?

Sounds about right. It was when W was president and the modern day liberal pile-on crew was going to town. Now the situation is reversed (actually Obama's approval ratings are worse than W's at this time in both presidencies) and you have liberals bowing out of discussion and crying foul.

I'm fairly certain B-Bob has made this claim of leaving before, so it's safe to say he'll return.

Pretty much before the arrival of Trader Jorge and his clown show successor.

Actually, Trader_Jorge was the best part of D&D.

He gave us the most laughs, but was a troll of the first order, even worse than his brother, bigtexxx.

Yeah, but T_J trolled with panache. His brief return before the 2012 election was a glorious time in the D&D because it broke up the monotony of "facts, logic, reason" and pasted stories without context.

It is the same ol spit, but it's not the trolls that are killing the D&D. It's the D&D newbs posting one liners or inane and unrelated pictures thinking they're clever or "making their mark" by taking down established trolls.

    You really aren't accomplishing either.

    Totally bipartisan issue...

He would troll, of course, but Trader_J was/is entertaining, and sometimes made me laugh out loud. bigtexxx's schtick, with all due respect to texxx, has been boring for a long time.

Spelling out words a challenge for you? Try a community college! Also, "roll-eyes" shouldn't be seen in a thread about toning down the conflicts/etc. in D&D. At least give us a solid sarcastic post without the acronyms!
