Actually, most drug surveys (such as this one: http://www.samhsa.gov/data/NSDUH/20...s/NationalFindings/NSDUHresults2012.htm#ch2.7) indicate that black people as a whole are more likely to be illicit drug users than any other racial group except Native Americans and those who identify as bi-racial, both of which are groups that exist in far lesser absolute numbers. However, the difference between white and black drug use percentage is tiny, and pretty much every racial group in the US except Asian is within a fairly small percentage range (8-15%). You are right about the disproportionate nature of drug convictions though.

 

Right. There is a slight difference, but not one of any significant amount, so it's pretty crazy to act like it's more of a significant problem for that community than for whites. That was really my main point. I agree that there is a small technical difference in percentages of drug use.

 

Any young black or hispanic male not in a 3 piece suit is "suspicious" to certain citizens and law enforcement officers.

 

Uh, I am pretty sure the blacks in suits are even more scary because OMG WHY ARE THEY TRYING TO LOOK LIKE US THEY MUST BE GETTING READY TO ROB A BANK OR MURDER A BUSINESSMAN, RUN!!!!!!!!
