Sure, if he can add 15 or 20 pounds of muscle in a few months, but that's not realistic. If he gains that much weight, most of it won't be good weight which will slow him down.

You would be shocked what exercise/nutrition can do for.

I was a twig in high school and need to gain 10lbs in a month for 2 a days (qb and safety mind you)

Ate chinese(chicken and broccili) religiously and worked out religiously, a lot of lower body core stuff.

Come 2 a days I improved my 40 by a whole tens of a second and was much more explosive

I don't recommend chinese, but it is an example that the weight can be gained and if training properly can actually make you faster

I really wouldn't be surprised, I do know how much good weight can be gained and in what time frame. It's possible to gain 10 pounds of muscle in a month, but it's REALLY hard to do and that's still not the 25 pounds he would need to gain to come in at 220.

If he was playing around 195 like a lot of scouts thought he was then that would be a ton of weight to put on in a short time frame.

He's had more than a month. He's training to get better, bigger, stronger, faster. He has people around him to help him do that. he's not just dropping 50 bucks a day on mcdonalds. It sounds like it's planned for a purpose.

it's also possible to gain weight after the combine, believe it or not.

We'll see, but don't be surprised when he comes in around 200 or 205

I'd be absolutely floored if he came in at 220 running a 4.5 and I don't know how much arm strength we'd see one way or the other. If he managed to put on the 25 pounds and still keep running a 4.5 it would be enough for me to re-think him as a prospect. It's still pretty unlikely, but if he can put that much weight on his frame that quickly, then there is hope that he won't be a twig his entire career.

I'd probably still support the Clowney/defense route because it's less risky, but if he comes in that much over expectations it'll be a harder decision.

On the arm strengh he was throwing with no lower body torque at all (my biggest gripe with his throwing). He recognized that, imagine him being a full bodied throw with 15-20lbs on him as well

    Coupled with a 4.5

If he could manage to pull all of that off he'd be a MUCH better prospect. Again though, it would be a shock.

So true... Many seem to think that Bridgewater is a finished product because he is so polished... But the kid JUST turned 21!!!

When you're that age it's super easy to build muscle on a proper diet/training program. Teddy is definitely more explosive than Luck & Luck ran a 4.6... So i think 4.5 is highly probable. And if he does it at 220.... Fuuuhgetttaboooutitttttt!!

Physicality aside, Bridgewater will blow OB away when they get to the white board.

He has so much room physically, I won't be surprised at all. I won't be surprised if he doesn't as well. Doesn't change my mind on him as a prospect

A lot of people forget just how good Schaub was once upon a time. No matter who the QB is next year, they won't be as good as Schaub in his prime.
