Tool/ A Perfect Circle is the answer I would have given a couple of years ago (The Noose is the most amazing serene song I have ever heard....) but It'll take me a while to answer this.

Agreed. I just received my APC box set that I ordered last September with the DVD concert at the Red Rocks, and yeah the Noose live is AWESOME. I saw them in 2003 or '04 at the Woodlands with the All Star lineup (Josh Freese, James Iha, Jeordie White) and my mind was blown. Top 5 concert for me and I've been to over 300 concerts.

Sucks they will not reunite for another whole album.

Trent Reznor would probably get the nod for being the greatest individual artist. The dude is a complete musician and sole architect for NIN. Just watching their rehearsal videos shows how he may be playing the bass line but will pull the guitar away from robin and show him how he wants the lead to be played. Dude hops on everybody else's role and leads by example by showing them exactly what his vision is.

Modest Mouse gets an honorable mention , I've been listening to them a lot lately.

Damn, after 3:00 still gives me chills...

Damn that is awesome I really envy you, it has always bugged me that I never got to see them live. I saw Tool back in 2010 or 2011 at the TC but was left a tad bit disappointed. Aenima live was worth the whole show though so it wasn't completely lost.

effing love trent reznor...and maynard. they're tied in my mind.

i could say several bands are my favorite based on how i feel any given day (agree about MM too), but tool/apc would probably have to be my answer too. that **** makes you have the hardcore feelz. plus MJK's scenes with ronnie dobbs make me love him even more.

    Radiohead

From teen angst rock (Pablo Honey) to beautiful melodic guitar rock (The Bends) to a guitar rock/electronic tinged masterpiece (OK Computer) to their electronic double album (Kid A/Amnesiac). All of these albums share in that they were extremely influential.

    Radiohead followed up with

    Hail to the Thief
    In Rainbows
    The King of Limbs

Probably not the weight of the previous albums but all good in their own right. TKOL being a little more electronic and causing me to not love it so much.

In Rainbows on the other hand is probably my favorite.
