I'm not saying the Congressman is homophobic, I'm just saying that there are people out there that are talking, they are saying... there are people saying he is a homophobic.

I can save everyone the time of clicking that completely irrelevant link.

It's not remotely analogous to Rep. Grimm's actions. A Michigan legislator (a nobody, not a US Congressman) said "there will be blood" as a result of anti-union legislation, as opposed to threatening a man with murder as Grimm did. It was stupid rhetoric which shouldn't be used (along the lines of what we've heard from Palin et al.), but it's not at all germane here.

Everyone!!!! A democrat state legislator in Michigan said "there will be blood" in a speech ... that means Grimm is okay to directly threaten another person!!!

Thank you for clearing this up!!! Two wrongs do make a right.

BTW both actions are not acceptable ... but one of these things is not exactly like the other

(also MSNBC's website doesn't show any story about this guy on their front page, its not exactly being discussed 24/7)

It looks like an attempt to entrap the congressman by asking him questions that were not agreed upon. When the reporter tries to steer the interview in that new direction, Grimm protests about it not being something they had agreed to and walks off... only to hear the cub reporter denigrating him behind his back.

Do you think Grimm's actions were acceptable? Nobody really cares whether the reporter was right or wrong.

Is there no place in this world for angry words? Do you guys really take what he said seriously? He was just hot under the collar... people say stuff. How would you like if what happened to Grimm had happened to you?

This isn't exactly an isolated incident for Rep. Grimm

Well he did see combat in Desert Storm, so maybe he has. Either way, that's setting the bar pretty low, don't you think? Regardless, I was referring to his history of temper tantrums (something former staffers have commented on). Not terribly becoming for a US Congressman.

And of course that's without getting into the possible corruption angle. In addition to the campaign finance investigation the reporter asked him about, Grimm was the subject of an IA investigation when he was with the feebs, and before running for office he was business partners with a guy who had close ties to the Mob. There's a reason Romney wouldn't take his money.

AND he's from Staten Island! (Which really should be a part of New Jersey what with it's history of mob ties and corrupt politics.)

I really hope Grimm uses this as his 2014 campaign slogan.

Sounds like the guy is not really a good public servant. Why do these guys get elected? Let's not try to make it something iconic about Republicans-- that's all I ask.

When you threaten to kill someone by throwing them off the balcony they are standing next to for asking a question you don't like while physically pushing that person who is much smaller towards said balcony then the answer to both questions is 'yes'.

If I had a nickel for every reporter I've thrown off a balcony, I would never need to work again. I don't see why a mere idle threat to do so would be a big deal.

He never threatened to "kill" anyone. He threatened to "bend him in half" which is a physical impossibility and then he threatened to "throw him over the balcony" which is just a convenient visual since they were standing next to a balcony. He did neither as he was just blowing off steam.

    Why did this occur?

Well, it seems that the scum kid reporter backed out on an agreement to ask Mr. Grimm questions about and only about the SOTU speech by President Obama. Not only did the cub reporter ignore that agreement, he then proceeded to denigrate Mr. Grimm as Mr. Grimm walked away having lived up to his agreement.

I don't think he even laid a hand on him. Scotto is back-pedaling. You can see Grimm's arms hanging down by his side most of the encounter. He does do some very serious pointing though.

Both men could have done better. Move along. Next!

Are you really taking this stance on this issue? The thing is on video and Grimm is clearly in the wrong. Perhaps that's why Grimm APOLOGIZED for the incident.

And he said he would "break you (reporter) in half, like a boy." He said this AFTER the balcony comment, which you also misquoted. I don't expect accuracy in your posts, though.
