You can just look at my examples, and the stats I posted, or look at the stats yourself on NBA.COM

At first thought i would say : no way..i rather see Brewer take that shot than Lin.....

    Then thought about it ...

lin being the worst Rocket player on the floor, and all the attention on

D12,Harden and Parson...the element of surprise might work:grin:

You're absolutely right, because the other teams also have not looked at the stats I posted and also seem to just conveniently forget all of Lin's clutch shots.

Keep in mind these 2 minute stats for Lin are for 10 shots over the whole season.

Stats are great but I would like an example. I can instantly think of a bunch of examples of games we won single-handedly because Harden carried us to the finish. Just one, Spurs game at SA. Please provide a Lin clutch performance. Or just keep doing what I think you will do. stats! stats! stats!

Didn't Lin save the Rockets against the Raptors in that double-OT game earlier in the season?

I'd let our all star be the closer.

I would like to see one also. I can't think of one off the top of my head.

There was the Atlanta game where Lin hit a long 2 with his foot on the line when we were down 3 with 6 seconds to go.

That's better than the previous play where Harden was on the wrong side of the court leading to Aaron Brooks throwing the ball out of bounds. Both Lin and Harden have had their share of screwups late in games.

This! And wasn't it Lin who sealed the victory against the Spurs by hitting the shot over Parker?

No doubt. I'm just pointing out that Lin's 60%(6-10) shooting in the last 2 minutes includes a made basket that shouldn't be defined as clutch. When you see the per game stats, these kinds of things aren't apparent.

Lin's a little bit like Robert Horry. Horry was clutch, but he wasn't the super heavy usage guy who made plays at the end of games, he was a finisher who made big shots off of plays(or isos) run by the closer(Hakeem, Kobe, Duncan, Parker, etc.). I know that's far from a perfect example, but I think there are similarities.

Considering Robert Horry is one of the clutchest players of all times, that's some mad props.

Lin has shot 56.7% in the last 2 minutes of close games(including Linsanity). The sample size is small, though(17-30 in 3 seasons). The question is, would he have the same success if he had taken 65 shots, like Harden has.

Probably not, but why should Jeremy replace Harden's role? I think being in a position to make clutch open shots ala Kerr or Horry would be a good role as well. Much better than iso Parsons on top of the key. Thanks McFail.

I've already provided examples, please look at the preceding pages. And if you really cant remember Lin's clutch shots for us, then I don't know what to say.

It should only be one answer because beardsanity doesn't exist. There can be Linsanity, Bevsanity, Dmoinsanity, etc but when you're the 3rd pick in the 2009 draft, that usually means you're a flat out baller. Harden makes me soften. Pause.

harden should be the #1 option. which means both he and the TEAM needs to work to get him good looks; get him as best of a shot as possible, and he needs to be more decisive when the window is there, rather than yo yo'ing up and down the court waiting for the defense to set.

being the #1 option doesn't mean he holds the ball for the whole 24 seconds and take a step back jumper. doesn't mean lin pounds the ball and dishes to him at the last 5 seconds. it means run a freakin' play to get harden a good look, whether it involves lin, parsons, howard, etc.

when the defense clogs the lane and dares him to take the step back 3, chances are, you're gonna miss. when the defense has to chase you around picks and worry about other players getting wide open shots, we're attacking, and are at an advantage.
