I actually felt last nights was the weakest of the season. It got a few laughs from me but I just wasn't feeling it like the other episodes.
thought it was interesting that they showed Abed become more normal with interactions with others outside of the group as soon as Troy left. Like his relationship with Troy was stunting his social development.
Just caught it on NBC.com, I thought it was a relatively 'meh' episode given how strong the previous ones were. But dang, I definitely noticed the absence of Troy. The B (C?) sub-plot of the bear party planning was boring and needed Glover's comedic timing to break up the monotony of that story-line. Still enjoyed the episode though. I hope they can make up DG's comedic timing somehow because none of the other characters do slapstick nearly as well.
Just watched it. Thought it was one of the weaker episodes. Lack of Troy made the episode pretty boring. There weren't too many laughs. This one was a more normal grounded episode though so naturally coming off last week this episode seemed pretty uneventful
And besides, there's going to be a Spoiler 2nd Dungeons and Dragons episode this season which could end up being too similar to a GoT themed episode.
The Annie storyline was supposed to be the A-plot, I guess, and that's why the episode felt weak. That particular storyline wasn't very funny. Episode had a nice Chang spot, but a lot of people don't like Chang in the first place, so that also contributed to the weakness of the episode as a whole.
This show is a little better with the new guys. Watching mike from breaking bad have to deal with that skinny indian guy was priceless- robot dances into his office and shoots a looong spray of foam from his costume prop all over his desk. The english daily show correspondent is funny too.
I athink this season is just not that good. It is one of the worst seasons yet. I hope it gets better soon. I am just going to watch the first couple of seasons again or men at work.
It's still been streets ahead of season four. I don't think it'll ever capture the magic of seasons one and two. Season three became a little too caricaturistic for me, but I've enjoyed a good number of episodes and moments this season. Hot lava and ass-crack bandit were classic Community theme episodes.
I didn't love this episode, but pre donald flyovers departure, this season was pretty good. Way better than that piece of crap season 4. I think it will take a while to get over the cast turnover (glover in particular), if they can do it at all. I at least appreciate trying to reinvent it
I still really liked season 3, Digital Estate Planning is one of my all tiome favorite episodes. Season 4 was also nothing special. But this season has been very bad. Losing the dynamic between Abed and Troy is huge. But that is not all. for me the magic is just gone. I cannot explain why. I sort of liked the lava episode, but all the others were terrible (not a fan of ass-crack bandit). It is unfortunate this was one of my favorite shows. I realy looked forward to every episode, but not anymore. I'm happy "Men at work" also started their new season, so it fills the void left by community.
I've loved this season. The episode where Pierce left his cryogenically frozen sperm to everyone had me in tears. The charm of the show is back. They've all become characters you like again, instead of just caricatures.
Loved tonight's episode. Only Community can pull off these experimental episodes. Finally getting used to not having Troy around.
Loved the episode last night, too. I think the show does better when it involves Greendale more. The first two seasons revolved around Greendale that it made the show have that community college feel, which I thought was great. It's been kind of getting away from that, in my opinion, and episodes like last weeks, where they went to some gala felt like such a bore to me.
Funny episode last night. It was a good follow-up of Dungeons and Dragons in season 2. The sound effects and overdramatization, especially the Dean, made it a very funny episode. It just didn't have the epicness of Fa...bulous Neil's quest to be noticed with Pierce trolling them. I really wish they would stay on campus so that they could incorporate more of the school's characters, though, instead of keeping the study group in off-campus settings.
