You obviously didn't watch the game or just being a DMo hater. He is not a Dirk stopper... no one completely stops Dirk. But DMo wasn't even guarding Dirk most of those points he scored. If you take away the 2 stupid fouls Dirk only scored once or twice on DMo (correct me if I am wrong).

So he is not a Dirk stopper but what is obvious to me and should be to anyone who truly watched the game is Dirk has trouble shooting over DMo. This is the third game I have seen that happen (once last year), which is why the last game Dirk went off on us I did not get why McHale did not put DMo in on him. We clearly should have won that game and I am convinced Dirk would not have torched us as much had DMo been on him.

DMo has also caused problems for LMA and Zach. Dirk Zach and Aldridge three of the best scoring bigs have problems with DMo guarding them. I am not saying he is the best defender in the league but clearly his defense is very sound. And the good thing is he won't make those stupid fouls again or at lot less frequently and he will improve. His own coach Dean Cooper said he just needs to be out there at this stage. I've thought that for a while and finally McHale seems to agree. So he's not a Dirk stopper but he is the best damn player we have to guard him. Light years better than Casspi and TJones and I for one am glad we have that option on the bench. By the end of the season he may even make us forget Asik is such a waste this year.

did you watch the game? Dirk had some trouble scoring when Dmo was on him. He was forced to drive and get to meet Dwight at the rim. Dirk did his damage against Lin, Parson and TJ. He scored like 4points in total when Dmo guarded him.

Calm down. I actually thought Dmo played well. (and yes dude, I watched the game - I gots LP baby!) I am just mocking the thread title of him as a dirk stopper. Honestly, he didn't do much to slow dirk down, no one did.

And Donatas sets a mean pick at the other end. He reminds me of Asik when he does it, and Asik, in my opinion, sets a better pick than Howard.

Dirk tried to post up Dmo a few times - he seemed to pass the ball out so that's a positive thing in that regard. So I could say that Dmo handled Dirk well in the post. But I don't know where all of Dirk's 8 misses happened. And how much of that is Dirk missing because no one shoots 100% versus Dmo's height no one knows. You can't really assess that until more games get played. But Dmo did a good job, not great but good. I think his main contribution was being aggressive and hustling and getting all those rebounds.

Dirk Stopper? no. That's just silly. Maybe someday when Dmo is better and Dirk is over-the-hill.
