Inspired by my trip to Home Depot yesterday.

Let's keep this to questions asked to you in person. face to face. Something you are asked with a straight face, as the mouth breather goes on stealing oxygen.

nothing via phone or interwebz with their faceless anonimity.

"Is Cinco de Mayo always on May 5th?"

Asked to me by my 10th grade geometry teacher. I laughed in her face and, yeah, that was a stupid move on my part.

Very similar to this...I ordered Flautas de pollo. Waiter asked me, "Chicken or Beef".

That's not an excuse. All waiters should know what's in a dish their place serves.

    "Are you asleep?"

When you think about it, this is the dumbest question ever. The other person can only respond with one answer.

Yes! Whenever my dad calls me before 10:00, the first thing he says is. "are you awake?". No, dad, I am still sleeping and talking on the phone at the same time. I realize he is just making conversation and is wondering if he woke me up, but it bugs me to no end.

Lots of these are just "frustrating" or "irritating" questions. For example:

There is a South Korea and a North Korea, and the person doesn't know the politics behind who can be from which one in another land. What did you answer?

At the time of the question, the other person may have been asleep. If the other person remains asleep, there is no answer. If the person asleep wakes up and answers "Yes", then it's a lie.
I don't understand why you couldn't just answer "Because I wasn't raised in the same region as him or by the same people."

Anytime they ask "are you cold?" in reaction to seeing me wearing something warmer than they are.

Demanding to know "what's the problem with" (some alternative arbitrary choice to the arbitrary choice I've made).

I have answered it in every way possible over the years. The worst is when they're like "ARE YOU FROM THE GOOD ONE OR THE BAD ONE? DERPY DERP."

I understand the average American is not educated enough to know the political nuances of the Korean peninsula but I'm talking about getting annoyed with college educated people who should know better.

One of the stupidest questions was "Do the Rockets play better without Harden?"

I have the stupidest reply by me.

Back then girlfriend (now wife) told me she was pregnant and me, with my stupid reply, answer in question, "You mean right now?"
