Bold statement: when Lin plays like he has over the last two games, then his overall contribution to the team is greater than Harden's contributions because Lin also plays defense. If Harden scores 24 but then allows Avery Bradley or Beal or Reddick or Korver or Hayward to score 28, then his overall contribution to the team isn't as great as it would seem. Factor in too that whenever Harden goes into ISO, dominant mode, it seems that everyone else gets passive, and the ball gets sticky.
Do you think it's odd that you're the only one who thinks Jeremy Lin is a better player than James Harden? Why is everyone else so blind?
I share your sentiment that Harden did not NEED to play so many isos. But it's lazy coaches' best excuse for not practicing more set plays, such as preparing for game-ending inbound passes we just witnessed. It won't change as long as McHale is the coach.
LOL! The lengths you LOFs go to make up bull****. ROFL!! Oh, this is so hilarious. Never thought the day someone would purposely prop up Melo for the sake of making Harden look bad. Melo averaged 27 shots in the Knicks 3 game winning streak. Let me put that in perspective. James Harden has NEVER attempted 27 shots per game in his entire career.
James (13 assists in his last game) Harden : "I'll pass to y'all more often when y'all learn to shoot better. How's that?"
I didn't say Jeremy is the better player, only that when he plays like Linsanity 2, his overall contributions are probably more than Harden's because he also plays defense and in which case he doesn't allow JJ Reddick to score 30 or Monte Ellis to score 37. Tonight Lin limited Ellis to only 6 points. Back in November, Ellis scored 37 on Harden.
What part of my English isn't acceptable? 'Comprehende' is just what we used to say down here in my area to stress on something. If you can't understand that, it's not my problem.
lol we aint going nowhere without Harden and his isolation skills I'd rather see Harden go one on one than see whatever the hell McHale was running against Memphis. "Parsons hot? give him the ball" "Parsons has been coming off scre-" "GIVE HIM THE BALL KENNY ROGERS"
actually, that last part doesn't really help your argument but I know what you're saying lol...did u mean to say Harden never attempted 27 shots in a single game?
Melo average 7.6FTAs during this 3 game stretch. Harden is averaging 8.1FTA this season. Keep defending Melo and his "ball sharing ability." The guy who basically ran Jeremy Lin out of town is now you guys' savior for what a "team player" really is.
Huh! I've never said Melo is a team player. So what if he's the guy who ran JLIN out of NY? I don't care the least... All I care is what's Rockets really need. I just didn't agree with the part that Harden hadn't taken 27 shots in an NBA game.
Don't worry, he'll be healthy by the trade deadline... It's just important to make Lin's value as high as possible for the Rockets get somebody better.
Here's why... This may not be true though. I don't know how credible is the writer of this document. http://****************/articles/536435/20140130/nba-trade-news-rockets-rumors.htm
Is this the same Jeremy Lin who was getting blown by in a game by Nick Calathes on Saturday? Lin is just as bad defensively as Harden. Ellis only scored 6 tonight because Dirk took the lion's share of the shots for Dallas' starting unit. He also just happens to take lots of terrible shots & variance comes in to play - sometimes those go in, and sometimes they don't.
If Harden were to shoot 55.5% and score 41pt with 27 shots per game, it'd be best interest of the team to do so. Typical iso-Melo was shooting 40% or less on 20 shots. The reason Melo could shoot 55.5% was because they shared the ball better which resulted in better spacing for Melo's shooting in turn. And, as I said elsewhere, I don't blame Harden, I blame McHale for the issue of iso-Harden.
