Then what? Turn the ball over every possesion? Why just accept Lin won us the game?

The Rockets don't play better without Harden but the ball movement is better. If you get this ball movement with Harden's skills this team would be lethal.

We win because the bench show signs of life again.

Let's see if we have figured things out vs. a great defensive team.

This thread can be equally as relevant if we changed it to Garcia

Lin as a starter has racked up the W/L, dunno maybe we should go back to that. We could use his solid defense there as well leaving Bev more energy/ability to play high risk/foul-prone D with the second unit. Jeremy doesn't seem to play well off he bench and while I like Bevs attitude and think it contributes well to the team setting the tone, but at the very least I'd love to see jeremy closing games. He's got that "clutch" gene perhaps even moreso than Harden.

Teamwork. Everyone needs to learn to play off each other, and esp. play off Harden and Howard.

TJones, Parsons play great with our without Harden.

The team definitely still needs Harden, but needs to be told to limit the iso-plays and to move the ball. The coach also needs to figure out how to utilize the players properly.

No. They play this way with Harden, especially when Sampson's gone. Promote Finch!

The team definitely plays with more ball movement and fluidity without Harden. That being said, it's laughable to even consider that we're better off with him. Harden has his flaws (and I never hesitate to call him out), but he's the face and future of our team. He just needs to continue to develop his game and fix some of his absolutely horrendous habits, which is on the coaches as much as it is on him.

What the Rockets have won this game if Harden was playing?

    Hmm...

To answer that question, let's see what happened in the last game that the Rockets and Mavs faced each other. In that game, on November 20, Harden shot 6-14 for 23 points--pretty impressive. However...the player on the Mavs whom Harden was guarding was Monte Ellis, and guess what Monte Ellis did offensively in that game vs. Harden???

    13-18 for 37 points, and 9 assists.

Tonight, with Bev and Lin guarding Ellis, Monte was neutralized, shooting only 3-10 from the field

Lin played well for sure but we chocked and could have lost that game if Dallas made that wide open 3 at the buzzer.

Look, Do I think Harden and his style is the right way to win a championship? I am not sure. I would like to see Harden and Lin play off each other more and see more movement in crunch time.

It seems to me whenever Lin or Harden are in crunch time they try a lot to break their guy down 1 on 1. Not sure why this is. The PnR gets taken away because they double the guard and both Lin and Harden can't pass over the top of a defense.

The problem is that no one else has really stepped up.

But there's hope. Both Parsons and Jones are showing life as guys who can burn a defense. It just might be a matter of these guys playing together longer and figuring out how to get it done.

This thread is about the Rockets. Not the 2-guard position. Or do you have the inability to discern the difference?

The Rockets did not play great defense tonight. Harden was not on the team. Hence they did not play great defense without Harden. How am I wrong?

"When he's out, we have a more balanced attack," Parsons said of Harden. "We run our sets and get the best shot available. When he's not there, we don't go one-on-one as much."

    LOL

I don't see where he said the Rockets played better basketball.

He said the Rockets have a more balanced attack and had less one on one plays, which I agree with. When you don't have the luxury of a star scorer, the whole team needs to step up to fill the offensive load.

Well, the Spurs just lost to the Bulls and the Mavs arent that good this year. So these back to back wins, while sweet, shouldn't be overstated.

the sad face cuz you realize it's you?

i don't think we're a better team without harden. obviously. but i hate your name calling and contradictory statements. first someone isn't a real fan cuz they believe we have a good chance of losing in the first round...and then calling others idiots in other threads.
