One of Teddy's greatest attributes is his "IT" factor. If you claim a player does not have "IT".. You better back it up with examples.
LOL, it's also not accurate. He was always seen as the second best prospect in the draft Perhaps you could say that Bridgewater/Manziel is like a homeless man's version of Luck/RG3 Yeah you can only predict how good of a prospect anyone will be, there's no way of knowing if they'll ever live up to their full potential.
I see it as Luck and RG3, Peyton vs Leaf all over again. The same arguments made against Peyton were the same exact arguments that I have heard against Bridgewater.
I wasn't claiming anything, I was quoting the Football Outsiders article posted by one of your fellow Bridgewater fanatics. According to the article, numerous pro scouts claim that Bridgewater doesn't have the "it" factor.
Leaf was the better prospect than Peyton, Peyton was the more refined of the two If you had a memory of the 98 draft you remember that.
That's simply not true. The thought was that Leaf was more athletic and some thought that as such he might end up having more upside, but Manning was by far the best passer prospect.
Why do I have to define the word? It was from the article YOU posted, you define it. Better yet, ask the author's source or the scouts that were the one's to actually make the statement.
Sure, the main difference being that there isn't a Manning quality prospect but I guess you could say it was similar in some ways.
Some people remember things how they want to believe it happened... The only knock on Manning coming out was not delivering during a big game. Indy wasn't even considering drafting Leaf over Manning.
They ran a nice story about how the Colts were going to take Leaf before he blew him off. He was actually more hyped than Manning was going in to that draft as he had the better physical intangibles. If you don't believe me read about it. Its true! Luck was always going first, but RG3 had that "it" about him. I assume its a guy who can make wine out of water(scrambling). I will say that RG3 had a better year than Luck their rookie year. Absolutely a poor man's version. It is hard, but in the Texans position with the players they have now, taking the most NFL ready Qb is a must. Teddy Bridgewater is that.
Do you have any idea what you talking about???? Up until a couple weeks before the draft, there was a 50/50 debate between the two. Its documented, everyone who worked for Indy during that time says that
I noticed the same exact thing when I first started watching Bridgewater; it actually initially turned me off to him. But from everything I've read since then, I haven't seen a single scout that has had any problem with it. One trusted scout even went so far as to say that his mechanics and release were "perfect." So I guess it's a "what do I know" type of situation. He's super accurate, has great zip and is excellent on the run, so while the release may look sorta funky, it certainly works.
R.E.M and Bobby have terrible recall regarding that time period. Doesn't fit with the agenda. Pro day will be interesting for T.B
Better passer? Yes. But many believed that Leaf would be the better overall quarterback. That is why he is regarded as one of the biggest bust ever. There was a ton of scouts saying Leaf was the better of the two down the road. Obviously that turned out to be a hysterical assessment, but if you followed the 98 draft, which I doubt y'all did, than you would know what I am talking about.
If there was a top tier NFL QB prospect, I'd agree, but since there's not I'd rather not pass up pairing Clowney and Watt.
