This sounds crazy but James Harden should be the 6th man...

#5 James Harden is top 5 in the NBA in scoring from ISO situations (actually third behind James and Durant). And all coaches call an ISO in the last minute for their best player to score (or create), so that some other bonehead doesn't turn the ball over.

    Come on Clutch!

I think it is reasonable for the Rockets to sacrifice wins and James Harden to make sacrifices to his superior game so that Lin can reach his full potential.

The real problem with the Rockets is that McHale is stupid and Harden is lazy and a bad role model for his fellow players.

We just need Harden to commit on D. Coming off the bench? Sure, but still play him 42 min

Harden's defense has drastically improved since his ankles and feet cleared up... what I would like to see is him work on his 3 point shot.

What a lousy thread. OP needs to have his thread starting privileges revoked ;)

Rockets will go as far as James Harden goes. End of discussion.

Yes, I posted the comparisons in a thread a couple of weeks ago:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8602456&postcount=252

It really makes sense though. We have a 2 guard that is the best passer and scorer on the team. Likewise we have a SF that handle the ball quite often and we play 3 PGs. In a situation like that you wouldn't expect to see a single player dominate the time of possession.

If you went back and pulled the same stats for PGs playing with other talented passing 2 guards (Kobe, Lebron, Michael, Wade), I'm guessing you would see that those PGs handled the ball less than the league average. It's to be expected when they are splitting the duties with a 2 guard.

The flip side is that Harden is perceived as dominating the ball and holding it for excessive amounts of time but his time of possession is much much lower than many other team's primary ballhandlers.

Harden is a great one on one player. If it came down to the last possession in a tie game, I would want the ball in his hands. But in the long run, his game does not make the other players around him better. In fact, I think the opposite is true. They don't reach their full potential because the ball gets sticky in his hands. That is not conducive to team chemistry, nor the development of his teammates.

Ok, I'm glad you explained because I was already thinking "I never even mentioned Curry!". But now I get the point.

Yes, Curry would be another guy to add to the list.

    I know!

Screw the statistics that show that Harden creates more for his teammates than anyone else on the team!

Screw the statistics that show that the ball does not "get sticky" in his hands!

I say we ultimately just go with the "team chemistry" argument because there are no statistics to measure that!

    Stupid Harden!!

So Jeremy Lin has one decent game and his fans want Harden to go to the bench. You dudes don't realize how stupid you look, smh

He doesn't make the players around him better yet he leads the team in assists per minute played? How is that? Do his assists not count? The wide open shots that teammates get because of the double teams that Harden draws don't matter?

If the ball gets sticky in Harden's hands then Lin must be "stickier" and Brooks is "stickiest" because they both possess the ball more per minute played than Harden.

In an ideal world, Harden would cater his game to help the team. Obviously he should start, but I don't know if he would sacrifice part of his game for the good of the team. Kind of what Jordan discovered in Chicago when he realized he could not win a title by himself.

So, sir, when you signed a contract to only praise and bow down to Jeremy Lin, did the fine print say you have to bash and put down every other rocket, no matter how factually false your statements may be, for the betterment of said Jeremy Lin? Always read the fine print LOFS NONE OF YOU READ IT

Oh my God. You must be a new Rocket fan. Be thankful we have a superstar in Harden. 2010-2012 seasons were rough on most of us.

How is what he doing right now not for the good of the team? Please provide examples without using the phrase "sticky" as that has already been proven false.

What part of his game would you like him to sacrifice?

What is it that Michael Jordan discovered?

I've made this comparison myself. And how long did it take MJ to grow and learn that? Six seasons? Seven? Harden has one year under his belt as the cog of this team. He also has McHale, not Jackson mentoring him.

Man Harden is so underrated here, it's insane. Do Washington fans say this stuff about John Wall? Does Golden State say this about Curry? Harden's better than both, and yet the crap some of you "fans" give him makes you look so dumb. He's our superstar for the next half of a decade us as fans need to appreciate him and stand up for him. He's our guy.

Whether you like it or not, Harden is the face of the franchise and main guy on this team. If anything, others should play around him to make the team better.

Harden does his bit to cater his game to help the team. He looks to be the facilitator and get everyone involved early on.
