That's still a matter of opinion. And the NFL's opinion is different from yours because Clowney will be a top 5 pick...

So lets say we get 34 yo McCown. He gets us to 9-7 or 10-6 seasons with prompt exits out of the playoffs and case is a back up at best, once the film was out on his pocket presence his goose was cooked. We will be in this same situation 3-4 years from now when McCown is gone and we finally realize that Case is not the answer

The character flags that concern me most are:
    1) poor work ethic - was out of shape at the beginning of the season, and steve spurrier called him out for it.
    2) inconsistent motor/taking plays off - it is well documented that clowney gives poor effort when things aren't going well for him.
    3) entourage - this is a major concern as his entourage will only grow once he gets more money. It is nothing but a distraction for clowney.
    4) south carolina coaches are happy he's gone - when you are an athletic freak and a "great football player" yet you wore out your welcome at college... That's a problem. I am sure the coaches at usc thought clowney would he a role model for younger players this past season, but he was no where close.. In fact, he was the exact opposite of a role model.
    5) lack of production - biiiig concern here. If he's so great, his 3 sacks against inferior competition is defenseless. His 3 sacks on the season show these flags are real.
    6) pay check player - this is speculation amongst scouts, but i can see why it's a concern given the facts above.

All these flags do not add up to a #1 overall pick, and most likely a disappointing career.

I never asked if it was overwhelming... You specifically talked like the SEC was a garbage conference and I asked which conference does the NFL draft out of the most...

Is the AAC on that chart...??? Lol..

No problem for you? You are a joke.

Going balls to the wall for them? They absolutely do, it is called coaching and free education.

There were plenty of guys the last few years that could have taken it off and didn't? Why is that? Well because they actually have passion for the game of football.

Common sense would tell you no, since the AAC didn't exist until this year.

AAC is formerly the Big East

You were hyping the SEC to be something that is not

#5 when you say lack of production... He still had a good year... Didn't have the sacs though, but he was still productive.

Everything else is more opinionated and doesn't mean he'll be a bust in the NFL, but I'm sure the Texans are discussing those things.

If by all means, you think scrambling out of the pocket at the first sign of pressure and heaving it up on the hopes your guy comes up with it is dominating defenses, then you apparently do not follow the NFL. Michael Vick does a ton of that stuff.

Bridgewaters game against Florida was better film than anything Johnny has done in college. He made NFL throws, he slid in the pocket, his footwork was second to none, and he showed the ability to take a huge hit and not let it effect him.

You are one against many, and are a terrible poster to show for it.

    Easy question...

    What would JJ do???

Would he take plays off to "preserve health"?

Would he have Steve Spurrier questioning his own commitment??

I come in here to discuss the draft. Than I see some of the things you say and just can't help myself. I find it absolutely hilarious that you think Johnny Manziels gimmick quarterback play is so much better than the other QB prospects.

Watch the LSU tape, please for the love of god, WATCH the LSU tape. Mingo/the hotel weed smoker himself were destroying Johnny. Absolutely contained him, and what happened? Horrible quarterback play.(Tahj Boyd tore that same defense up BTW).

Bigger faster guys in the NFL. My red flags go off when scouts say Johnny's biggest strengths will be his weaknesses in the NFL. College kids can't tackle. But in the NFL, you have safeties who lick their lips at the sight of a QB on the run. Load the box, and make Johnny beat you with his arm.
