I think this confusion arose from the difference in what we all use the term bulk scorer for.

Bulk scorer? Since when did Harden turn into the Costco of franchise players?

jms99 said an incredibly unintelligent and ridiculously flawed statement, and now is getting burnt for it. Love it.

Harden has become severely underrated in the GARM, imo. We're really lucky to have him.

Some people look at this situation poorly. We've played pretty well without Harden this year. Instead of knee-jerking and coming up with stupid conclusions like "we don't need harden", "Harden for 6th man!", it should be a testament that we have the depth to shift the offensive load to other places to make up for his absence.

In the long term, we're screwed without Harden, but it's awesome to see our team rally in the couple of games he's missed. It'll pay dividends later in the season, with all this gained experience and responsibility.

Let's look at who else is in the top 20 in minutes played this year:

Carmello, Durant, Curry, Lebron, Aldridge, George, Love, Lillard and Griffin. Hmm...looks like teams keep their stars on the floor for the most minutes.
Do you believe that all of those players coaches are trying to sabotage their team's future chances?

Harden is averaging 38.6 minutes a game this season.

Michael Jordan averaged 38.3 minutes a game over the course of 15 years.

Larry Bird averaged 38.4 minutes a game over the course of 13 years.

Lebron James has averaged 39.6 minutes per game over the course of 11 years.

Wilt Chamberlain averaged an incredible 45.8 minutes per game over the course of 16 seasons.

Star players playing big minutes isn't anything new and it isn't isolated to the Rockets.

Harden has his flaws (especially on D), but saying he doesn't share the ball is one of the most ignorant myths thrown around here.

Raw number sure, but not on a per minute basis. Harden plays more minutes so you have to adjust by minutes to get a comparision.

Lin is averaging 52.3 front court touches per 31.1 minutes of game time. That's 1.6817 front court touches per minute played.

Harden is averaging 58.7 front court touches per 38.8 minutes of game time.
That's 1.5129 front court touches per minute played.

So, Lin get's about 11% more front court touches per minute played than Harden does.

Ugh. as borderline ridiculous as this thread is, what made it even worse is that it almost immediately turned into a Harden vs Lin thing. Hmm, I wonder how Harden and Lin would react to reading this....cue dream sequence.....

Yes because he brings the ball up from the back court into the front court on the majority of possessions....
