This sounds crazy but James Harden should be the 6th man...

It will never happen. Harden is the star player. You wouldn't do that to someone who averages 20- 25 points a game.

This is actually a great idea but there is no way for Jame Harden to play from the bench again as one of the only two franchise players in Rockets....

I see where you are coming from because he slows the game down big time but he is too good to come off the bench. Not to mention that I don't think his ego could take the hit.

You don't minimize the superior player to help maximize the lesser players. I addressed the stats in another thread:

Harden is by far our best scorer per minute played and he is also our leading assist man per minute played while possessing the ball less per minute than Brooks or Lin. That is exactly why you want the ball running through Harden.

Teams play through their stars not through their #4 or #5 options.

Actually, Harden has a higher assist/min rate than Lin does while possessing the ball less per each minute played.

Lin may be looking to get his teammates going more but Harden is succeeding at a higher rate.

Do you realize that for each minute played that Lin actually possesses the ball longer than Harden? Same for Brooks.

It is crazy, and it makes no sense.

We would be getting stomped after awhile with James on the bench. It would disrupt his rhythm and what he does best.

    No, just no

Crazy idea. Trade Lin instead is better.

    Right?

Unless you are purposely trying to make Lin the face of the franchise, which is something he is not yet qualified or able to be.

    I just don't understand anymore.

This team, with all its flaws, has its best starting 5 on the floor when Beverly plays.

One game doesn't change that. We could be a better team, but in terms of what we have, our best chance of winning is with PB, JH, CP, TJ, and DH.

    Keep it Simple.

Why should the rockets do that? Morey brought him here to be the MAN, or else mr beard will be pissed n demand a trade, mchale cant blame Lin for losses, sampson cant point to Lin defensive lapses, n all those 3 will be scrutinised by alexander.

any fool can average 20 - 25 a game if given the go ahead. Scorers like Harden and Lin are overrated and will always be overrated. I'm not saying they are terrible players by any means. Just simply that they will be a bit overrated.

Bulk scorers that are 6'2" to 6'5" are the most replaceable players in basketball. You can replace them and you won't see a huge impact on your team's performance.
