Spurs are a good match-up, they are to old to keep up with our pace. His game plan works against this team.
Your wrong actually. Baynes is pretty good usually. I live in SA so I see some Spurs games. But he can suck against the Rockets!
Nah pops a better coach still. Dwight outmuscled timmy, parson better than bonner, jones out hustled diaw for the most part, and lin/bev was better than tp/mills/and de culo.
Overall, McHale didn't outcoach anyone. Like others have already said, it was Pop's own fault for hack a dwighting. Pops has forgotten more good plays than McHale will ever be able to draw up. McHale did a good job subbing in Dmo though, thats for sure.
Winning a game != Outcoaching the other team. Lets see McHale win a playoff series against the Spurs..then we can talk.
I love watching people twist and squirm after a Roxs win..... "Ter te Der.... Roxs win in spite of McFail....DErrrr"
I agree, but on the basis that game management is only one small part of a HC's responsibilities. Popovich is a future HOF coach. If we're just talking about in-game calls, this wouldn't be the first time that he has seemingly outsmarted himself to the Spurs' detriment, probably one of his biggest faults.
lol it wasn't pop coaching but the team playing some okay defense and some nice defense at times. Dwight also hit his fts late on the 3rd and then Lin. i thought everyone play okay. Just Parsons looked a little lost but it was probably coz of pops scheme to defend him and again i think Pat needs to control his energy. He makes silly fouls when he gets hype and he gotta learn how to pass the ball to Howard. every one does but pat more coz he is there for defense and to give some energy to the starters. but if he dribbles and doesn't look for Howard early the offense gets all messed up. and Good job by Howard too he didn't get too frustrate. He did on the 1st qrt but he didn't get in foul trouble. Which when he does it gets him off his flow and rhythm. and he played great. Good game tho and whats p w Casspi missing so many fts. he missed more in a row than Howard did
Op, the question really should be what McHale could have done with a good cord led by two stars. Pop would make it a perennial contender beating everybody left and right silly. Pop is that good.
I'm gonna hate not on McHale but OP's opinion on him runs counter to the majority. I do wonder if the team plays better without relying too much on Harden bailing them out. None of the "sticky ball".
