So is the argument around here that Bridgewater will be better than anybody else available on the draft board at the outset but eventually plateau have a lower ceiling than someone like Manziel or Bortles?

Sorry I'm not buying it. The draft is such a crapshoot and projections are such hit/miss (especially QB) that if you "know" someone will be better you gotta draft the guy. This is especially true with a top pick because of their value. You don't gamble with your rent money.

That said if Bridgewater is also a ?, then you go Clowney + stop gap QB. Build your running game and defense and try to win with a game manager.

Smart Qbs avoid hits and don't put themselves in harms way. RGIII put himself in danger by refusing to slide and take on hits.

All this talk reminds me of Joe Montana when he was coming out.

Off topic but damn the freaking colts and there luck. They are bad one year and land a once in every ten years qb. Not saying Bridgewater isn't talented but Luck was as sure thing as it gets. Some franchises just seem like they can't do wrong

An interesting choice seeing as how he struggled with injury his entire career.

I love it when people go to the "just winz" card. Thinking that QB's "win" is one of those things that pretty much invalidate any opinion. The greatest QB in the history of the NFL would never "win" a game without the right team around him, a garbage QB (Flacco) can "win" the SB with the right team around him. Any time you resort to listing team accomplishments in an effort to justify an individual, you automatically lose any argument. What's sad is that you didn't have to go that route with Montana.

Love the simpletons on here who think that it doesn't take great qb play to win (or at least be in position) a championships

Where have they been in the last 50-60 years of the NFL's existence

You need a qb in the position to win championships, An opportunistic defense wins championships. Means getting turnovers

Besides a couple of teams, balanced teams win championships.

Offense and defense go hand in hand. Go 3 and out all the time and your defense will wear down.

    See indianapolis colts

If you don't have a QB who can make the big time throws, than you lose.

I've never heard anybody associated with football ever say balanced teams win championships that's not the saying.

The saying is defense wins championships period.

Where have you been the last decade?

Let's look at the last decade worth of SB winners

Brad Johnson 215 yards 2 TD 1 int.....Great QB play? No.

Tom Brady 354 yards 3 TDs 1 int......Great QB play? Yes.

Tom Brady 236 yards 2 TDs 0 int......Great QB play? No.

Ben Roethlisberger 123 yards 0 TDs 2 int....Great QB play? No.

Peyton Manning 247 yards 1 TD 1 int.....Great QB play? No.

    Eli Manning 255 yards 2 TD's 1 int.....Great QB play? No.

Ben Roethlisberger 256 yards 1 TD 1 int....Great QB play? No.

Drew Brees 288 yards 2 TDs 0 int........Great QB play? Not really but really good.

Aaron Rodgers 304 yards 3 TD 0 int.......Great QB play? Yes.

Eli Manning 296 yards 1 TD 0 TD.........Great QB play? Pretty good

Average Joe 287 yards 3TD 0 int.........Great QB play? Sort of.

So in the last decade you have 2 for sure great QB performances for winning SB teams and 3 others that were good to very good. Looking at the other 5, 2 were terrible performances, 3 were "meh" performances.

I bring up other options and ideas because I'm not sure what the Texans will do. You guys are committed to Teddy and act like it's a sure thing and written in stone that Teddy is getting drafted with the #1 pick.

Using slogans to build a football philosophy is pretty stupid.
