youre an idiot, he was a bench player because of circumstances not because he sucked.. he played with durant and westbrook who were drafted befor ehim... he created problems for teams' 2nd units. he was ALWAYS on the floor with those 2 to close out games. he didnt magically become a star, he was always one and it became apparent when his role increased with another team..

    1.Hiring and keeping Mchale
    2.Not trading Asik on time
3.Trading 3 draft picks, Martin and Lamb for Harden who is nowhere near worth that much. Especially for a guy who was on his way out after feeling "disrespected" by the organization.
4.Getting players who are supposed to fill a role but play a different role instead making them useless
    5.ROYCE WHITE
6.I'll list his future upcoming mistake: getting that 3rd "superstar" who won't make much of a difference.

Not really in any particular order - well probably Royce White. This guy makes Kwame Brown look productive.

You mean after the 5 years we have him locked up? That trade was and still is great. You would rather have Lamb and some random picks over Harden? Which in turn means no Dwight either?

    Hiring McHale.

And let's not forget McHale was also the guy that wanted Royce.

Hiring McHale was his worst move. Why didn't you use your advanced analytics when picking a coach Maury??

I like the idea of hiring Mchale. Morey knew he could control more aspects of the team with him. It just hasn't worked out. He should look to hire a new age young gun who isn't afraid to change and develope.

Can we get Thibodeau? I'm sure Houston will be a top team if we get him

Morey will be the ruin of Rockets and the sooner Les Alexander realizes this, the sooner he can get the team back on track. Very soon Dwight Howard will be out of his peak years and the rebuilding will begin all over again!
How can we ( including most on the BBS) believe that a team with 2 overpaid players ( Asik and Lin) and sub par players like Mote, Garcia, Casspi, Smith, Brooks,Beverly and Brewer make this a Championship Team.
Morey a Manager with no sense of developing a Basketball Team, will not develop talent, will not give draft picks even a couple of seasons to grow; even a gift horse like Dragic needed to be paid, Morey would not give him his due because it did not fit into his Moreyball Philosophy.
Moreyball needs to Go! Les Alexander wake up and smell the roses.
The roses smell rancid in Rocket Land. Y :p

I'm beginning to suspect it was Sam Hinkie (behind the scenes) who made it all work in the past.

His team is up and coming and fans there are willing to wait because they see the progress.

Our current team was supposed to be a 2nd-tier team, but we have sprung a lot of leaks, and there is no clear solution in sight to solve the roster mess. Morey asks us to wait for cap space in 2015. You mean, we have to endure 2 years of ****ty play while he experiments with the roster again and again?

We need help right now. He should have been willing to take role players like Bass and Lee for Asik. Not every deal should be a hit out of the ball park. Maybe he's more concerned with his reputation than with how the team performs and how the morale of both team and fans has fallen.

I think that's how they explained it but I doubt it. It was during a playoff run. I'm sure they knew they would have been able to dump him in the summer for the same deal

I think it's getting rid of Dragic and Royce White; those two are the top two.

The 16th pick could've been something valuable, and Dragic was really good.

I hate people. You understand that Lin and Asik deals were made pre Harden and Howard? If you can get either of those latter two players you do, regardless of who is on the team. As far as Dragic, Morey wanted cap space and Dragic wanted an extra year (Also everyone forgets but he was in Phoenix prior to Houston and wanted to be back in Phoenix.). It was not "Moreyball Philosophy."

In order of gravity for me:

    1.) Letting Goran Dragic walk.
    2.) Mchale.
    3.) Royce White.

Nevertheless, still one hell of a GM. Love the guy. We are lucky to have him.

This is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the worst posts I've ever seen. You think the sixers are making progress, but the rockets arent? You think we're in the middle of ****ty play right now? What's your definition of not ****ty play?? Do people remember where we were 2 years ago? I swear, some fools talk about us like we're the damn Bobcats. No clear solution? Has Morey EVER made a move and created a team where we still didn't have flexibility? Relax man go enjoy the Sixers.

I used to think Morey was amazing, so much so that I didn't even bother worrying or thinking about what the Rockets should be because I knew that "Morey" had it covered.

His name is now in inverted commas because I now realize that it isn't really Morey at all. There's a lot more people that made the office go around and some have gone. Morey might get all the credit, but at the end of the day he only does one little bit of the work.

I'd love for you to give factual information on why you think it isn't really Morey at all. the Knee-Jerking in this thread is outrageous

Their only goal wasn't Free Agency. They were also open to a trade for a soon to be free agent at the trade deadline and the additional cap space would allow them to absorb more salary.

If teams are convinced that Carmello is leaving NYC then you'll likely see teams also pursue him at this year's trade deadline. It's a risk that he can walk after the season but it would also be an advantage to be able to have his Bird Rights and offer him $30M more than the other suitors.
